It's an interesting opinion although not a conceivable one to me.

Even if the film speed is incorrect, it's easy to see that Robinson was every bit as athletic as Ali was at his best:

I rank Muhammad Ali higher than most people, I rank him no2 p4p... I rank Robinson higher tho, he had the footwork, distance boxing & speed of Ali as well as the heart, chin & will to win, both were legendary in those categories BUT Robinson had KO power in both hands & could infight better than Ali plus fought 202 times from 1940-65, Ali said is best `Ray Robinson is the greatest p4p fighter of all times`

Mike Tyson said that? Well he is a heavyweight, of course he will favor Ali.

Ali was the greatest, its all good having 200+ fights, a great achievement.
But Ali's resume is unquestionable, and the frightening thing is, we dont know how much better he would have been if he had continued to box during his prime years.

As big a Muhammad Ali fan as I am,Robinson was technically better. As has been pointed out,Ray could fight inside and had ko power in both mitts.

Robinson is the greatest boxer. Ali is the greatest fighter.
