Black, White...you can find a bunch of crooks. And you can find some good ones on each side. People are people. Good and Bad. Forget "Color."

    But for entertainment purposes:
Let's look at the difference between the "White Man" control over Tyson and the "Black Man."

Tyson was a LOVED, UNDEFEATED, and SUPERSTAR around the World when with the "White Man."

He was making a lot of money off endorsements alone.

Whitey took him in, paid for all of his training and medical expenses as teenager in the hope that Cus was right that this kid from the ghetto was going to be the Next HW Champion.

By the time he was 20, he was making bank. By the time he unified the title, he had millions in the bank, other bank-notes that would gain him interest over time that was money put away for his retirement so if he wanted to retire early, he could___and he was again...an undefeated, respected, World Champion Superstar. The most popular athlete in the World.

O', and unlike Don King, The White Man actually had receipts to back up every penny that Mike earned and gave it to him. King....lol...no receipts. "Trust me Mike; Trust Me."

King says he can give you 20 million; you might actually get 200,000.

Black-Man took over, like Chris Rock said, next thing you know, he is in Japan on his knees looking for his mouth-piece.
    And he never recovered.

And Don King is wrong. It was actually Cus D'Amato that started the big bank rolls for fighters. He started it with Floyd Patterson.

Yes, great part of the Internet. Although addictive. Type in something you want to know about and magic happens: library of information.

When Journalism was actually legit. Now everyone is a journalist. It's Not all bad but at least you have a chance to get some real decent "facts" from someone that took an ethics and journalism class.

    S.I. vault is great.

I remember reading that article :D

Posted a couple a while back on this site.

Both Rooney and Steve Lott said Tyson's ability in training/sparring was something else to watch but he didn't take all his talent inside the ring. Some fighters are better in the gym than in the actual fight. Maybe its confidence and it has to grow with what your doing.

Lott said he used to tell Tyson to pretend to be a Kung-Fu guy...or something like that. that's when you saw him do that crazy thing with Mitch Green. He was having fun for a change.

Good training video. Watch out for two of the sparring clips. Short, but these two specific he is just having fun: Watch at 1:16+...and then at 4:27+

    Quality.

Lott is a cool dude. Answers pretty much any questions you throw at him. Did it extensively on TysonTalk back in '05.

    Yup.

There was a fan question interview he did. Good insight.

And I like his voice-over in the one documentary describing the style/science of Cus D'Amato implemented for Mike Tyson.

Just a piece someone made from the original clip from a documentary. Its probably still on youtube. This was just quick to find.

Ultimately, Tyson destroyed his own career. He made consistently poor choices and paid the price.
