just looking back at a young tyson training and a couple of fights and anyone who can say he's anything less than amazing is a fool.
bear in mind what he was doing to fully fledged heavyweight champions by the age of 20 and imagine if he had another 10 years with d'amato and rooney training him.
its easy to look at the tyson that fought lewis and holyfield and say he wasnt all that, but look at a 20 year old tyson to the tyson that lost to lewis, hes not half the fighter.people watch tyson and look at his awesome attack, but look at the defence the man had,his upperbody movement and footwork was phenomenal, his hand speed was frightening, his boxing brain exceptional, his body attack sickening and his ko power is obvious.he had a rock solid chin, the man was a monster,an outright fighting machine, but doesn't seem to get anything but disrespect these days.the man was a joy to watch and its just a shame he gets remembered too much for his later years and antics outside the ring because in it ive never seen anything like him at heavyweight.
wladimir klitschko would be wiped out in quick time.
ali struggled with frazier who wasnt as good as tyson in almost every department,as much as i think ali is great i dont see him winning this fight.
no doubt ppl are going to say who did he beat etc,but just look at the ease he dispatched decent not great opposition

Tyson could beat any HW that every lived, as could Lewis, Ali, and Holmes, but I doubt that he would.

Tyson would of never beat prime Foreman, Prime Lewis, Prime Holyfield, Prime Buster Douglas, Prime Ali, Prime Bowe, Prime Tua, Prime Ibeabuchi. Prime So many other fighters.

Tyson never beat a heavyweight who was in their prime and considered world class in his career.

Bull ****. Even in his prime he was only a 6 round fighter. Even in victory, he struggled beyond 6 rounds. ie. Frank Bruno --- beyond 6 he struggled, on the verge of panicing, fatigued, lucky to get the stoppage. Intimidation was his biggest asset. Razor Ruddick fought him in his prime and almost won.

tyson anihilated a past his prime holmes, but by the same token holmes 4 and a half years further past his prime took holyfield the distance and was competitive.to say he would have never beaten douglas your obviously taking the ****

by almost won do you mean lost a clear decision ?
by the time of this fight he was in obvious decline and king had his hooks well and truelly into him

Did Douglas beat him? Yes. Holmes was out of shape when he took the Tyson fight. Also styles make fights. Just because Holmes did better against Holyfield doesn't mean anything. A washed up Holyfield still knocked out Tyson.

In Tyson's peak he was struggling against guys like Mitch Green, Tony Tucker and James Tillis so as I said so many times who was Tyson beating in his so called prime?

I think the original poster was refering to 20 year old Tyson and no one kicked 20 year old Tysons ass.

On the night Tyson became the youngest ever heavyweight champion you could have put the best version of Lewis,K2,Douglas and Holyfield in front of him and Tyson would have won.
