yes he was in decline, there a a huge difference in a 20 year old and a 25 year old tyson, watch any footage of him and you will see a massive difference in speed of upper body and footwork also reflexes, these where 3 of his most important assets in his early days

the division wasnt stronggranted, but compare it to joe louis's era a man who is widely regarded as the best or second best heavyweight of all time.the likes of tony galento, billy conn who would ave beaten him if he boxed smart, the list is endless.it is the manner in which tyson obliterated holmes which no one had done before or since, and just the general ease in which he steamrolled his oposition virtually without taking a punch

foreman gassed easy to,watch the lyle fight,he was falling over with exhaustion after 5 rounds.foreman was too wild of a puncher, tyson would outland him vastly,i dont see foreman winning this fight

hilarious post.just look at the boxing skills of the two men you are comparing.dempsey fought like a kid on a playground with wild wide punches, didnt hit nearly as hard as tyson, was slower just all around no where near as good as tyson

The title says "prime for prime".

The Lyle fight was Foreman's first bout after losing to Ali.
He went through a severe depression and subsequently never recaptured his title winning form.

Furthermore, it doesn't take a genius to see Tyson's style plays right into Foreman's strenghts; he only lost to boxers who were clever enough to take him into the later rds while avoiding engaging.
Tyson always engaged because he was too short to box.

    TIIIIMBER !

out of all of the greats i think ali would definately be one who would struggle with his style,i think a pre draft ali would have a chance when he could dance for 15 rounds i think post draft ali struggles in this one

    Prime Mike would have definitely beaten either of the Klits, but I wouldn't go so far as to suggest that he was so good he'd beat any HW in history. There are plenty of HWs he would have lost to, such as;

    1. Ali (would have beaten him before the fight began)
    2. Prime Foreman (The 1st Foreman. He would beat Foreman, the 2nd)
    3. Prime Bowe

Prime Tyson would struggle with any modern day SHW because he wasn't a proper HW. However, he compares well against classic eras fighters because he holds a big advantage in raw power, speed and conditioning over them. Tyson would utterly destroy Louis and Dempsey.

Bowe's defense was always very weak, which isn't a good thing against someone as explosive as Mike Tyson. He was surely able to knock Tyson out as well, so it could have gone either way.

As for the Klitschkos, I don't believe that Tyson would have defeated either of them. They got too many advantages over him.

watch the speed of a prime tyson and the handspeed of foreman and tell me how tyson isnt going to land 5 punches before foreman knows what hit him

Bowe didn't have the best defence, but he had an iron chin and a, I'll take one to give one mentality. He had heavy hands, he was fast, and he had great ring generalship. Bowe loved to throw heavy uppercuts and with Mike's bob abd weave style, I think Bowe would catch him with plenty of them.
Very competitive fight, but I'd give the edge to Bowe.

Prime Mike would have chopped the Tall but slow Klitschos down. After he worked his way in pass their jabs, they'd be toast, and fall like pine trees. :yep

Neither Klit has ever in their careers faced a champion like prime Tyson.

Tyson would have absolutely destroyed guys like Dempsey and Louis who were slow, primitive, crude and amateurish in comparison.

Tyson would have little chance against the K brothers, Lewis, Bowe. Too big, too good.

If you have two good boxers, you *ALWAYS* pick the bigger man. I only pick Tyson to win against way bigger men if he's leagues ahead in skill. Which doesn't apply vs. either K brother, Bowe, Lewis etc. Iron Mike would get his ass kicked by all of them.
