compared to modern day boxers he would be far from considered a master boxer is the point im trying to make

the reason i started this thread was basically because i was watching old footage of a young tyson when he was under the tutelage of cus and just after with rooney when jacobs was alive.imo tyson would have a great chance versus anyone at this time,he had discipline, guidance and people he respected keeping him in check, when this went tyson capitulated.if joe louis can be judged on beating a bum a month then tyson can be judged on anihilating 3 world champions and a former one who went the distance with holyfield 4 years later by the time he was 20.it is obvious to anyone with better than average knowledge of boxing that he went into decline very early in his career even tho he was still very good.i just find it a shame he didnt make the right choices and make the most of what he had for longer.but considering what he had and the distraction,if i think back to me being 20 i can see how he made some bad choices.

    haha! ;)

Don't forget about the legions of white guys who bow to blacks too. who would probably willingly blow Tyson.

I don't think prime Tyson beats any heavyweight ever.

I'd love to have seen a prime Tyson vs a prime Wlad.

I respect your opinion but I think you are wrong. Tunney was an expert.

Does your seemingly obvious extensive boxing knowledge stretch to the name of Harry Greb.

i respect your and agree in a way but disagree in an other.he was a great fighter because he was ahead of his time skillwise when he fought and a pioneer for fighters who followed him,but disagree in the way that if he fought today or when tyson fought,he would be behind the times both technically and physically

Lol, I honestly think he would! He was one of the best all-time in any division. Tunney is top 10 all-time. Tyson is not.

ok well obviously you dont believe what your eyes actually show you.watch the 2 people actually fight and im sorry but you are obviously massively biased.the fact you say tunney is top 10 ever suggests this, and tunney could be rated higher than tyson in greatnes because tyson didnt fulfill his potential but h2h tyson anihilates him without question, tony tucker beats him, larry holmes who tyson beat beats him

Larry Holmes belongs ina separate class. Those guys back then were really Cruiserweights. Yes, Holmes might win.
But Tyson would not. Are you saying that Tunney wasn't a good a boxer as Holyfield? Or Lewis? You are nuts! Tunney was immaculate.
You have no respect for the forefathers. Tunney was a real pro. A real boxer. And a FIERCE competitor. Tunney KO's Tyson. And if not, Tyson loses badly and is beaten to a pulp.
