Is that why "prime Tyson" lost to Holyfield twice?

Tyson would smash Wlad's class jaw to bits reckon Vitali and him would be a damn close fight but because of reach i'd fancy Vitali in his prime to beat mie

Prime Tyson is the biggest myth in the history of boxing. He fought tomato cans his whole career. Fought a tomato can in Buster Douglas at 23(past his prime according to rubes on this board) and was KTFO. Finally fought some real fighters and lost every single one of those fights. Both K's knock him out brutally. Wlad within 5.

Pretty sure Mike wasnt insinuating he could beat a one armed Vitali?????:think:think

Pretty sure he meant a PRIME Vitali, aka the one from the Sam Peter comeback fight or even the Vitali from the Lewis, Johnson, Sanders, Williams fights.

Im a huge Tyson fan, but I don't personally agree that he'd beat that version of Vitali. Vitali in his prime had outstanding punch resistance, power, footwork, jab, and a laser guided straight right hand.
More importantly, Vitali used angles from the outside on his opponents would throw the earmuffs on. He'd hit Tyson, something most of Tysons opponents were too afraid to do.

I'd have to take Vitali by stoppage. Likely around the 7th.

As for Wlad........hard to make and argument that he'd beat Tyson. He grabs and holds even when he aint hurt vs pressure fighter. I just think Tyson would wiggle out and catch him.

Wlad had always been a "offense as defense" fighter before Manny. And it was very effective except against Sanders. But I think the Wlad who beat Mercer would be best against Tyson simply b/c Tyson doesnt exactly pack pure iron himself. I think that Wlad would have about a 50% chance of shocking the world.:think
Any other version of Wlad would have about a 25% chance of beating Tyson.:think

Wlad gets put to sleep within a round. Its a no brainer, not even worth debating.

    Vitali also gets stopped.
Sanders throughtout his whole career was nothing more than a 4 round fighter. When he fought Vitali he was 38 and fatter than he ever was. He had about 3 rounds of fighting in him , and in all those 3 rounds Vitali was getting picked off and near got floored for the first time in his career. Sanders easliy sweeped those first 3 rounds and Vitali only took over when Sanders gassed out and everybody knows he had zero defence.

Against Chris Byrd Vitali was swatting air and chasing shadows. Evetytime he missed , Byrd ran him around the ring with a him with a pity pat counter jab.

You combime Sanders offence x100 , Byrds defence x100 , power x200 and you get prime Mike Tyson.

Vitali's h2h abilitys are a myth. The evidence is out there to see for anybody who knows anything about boxing. If you gave Chisoa Tyson's power , but none of his skill , he would of beaten Vitali that night.

No offence to the klichkos they're awesome but prime Tyson would murder them. Any one who can remember his dodging and weaving ang those uppercuts that he would fire damn remember that 20 punch combo he did to Bruno after he got out of prison that was past his prime. He would murder the klichkos no doubt at all

If Tyson can back Wladimir up, he nullifies his clinching tactics and mount an assault.

Tyson TKO in round 4 or 5.

It's amazing how easily people are fooled these days. Thankfully you're not one of them.

Sorry, but from '86 to '91 (barring one horrible night) Tyson was a goddamn animal. Wlad would be broken down mentally before he even stepped into the ring.
People forget the fear factor Tyson had back then, and with bloody good reason.
Vitali...at least he would fight, but he is too slow, too ponderous. He survives to see the final bell. MAYBE.

The Klit brothers beat post prison Mike, not the pre prison Mike. You point to Buster, I'll point to Byrd, Purrity, Glussed Me, and Sanders.

People are forgetting that Wlad was rattled by Haye's demeanor which was evident during his performance where both Haye and Wlad were hesistant to engage with each other.

Now was Wlad hesitant to engage that night because of Haye's KO record? Or because of some other intimidating factor?

Either way a prime Tyson is a million times more intimidating than Haye.

So if Wlad was hesitant with Haye I am assuming he would be even more hesitant with a prime Tyson who would then spark him inside the distance due to this. Rule no1: You can't be scared or hesitant when fighting a prime Tyson.

Vitali is a fighting man so he would be happy to engage, I think he would go the distance and get Tyson attention and slow him down late. Still would lose a decision though and would have to get off the canvas too. If Sanders can close the distance against a prime Vitali then Tyson would too.
