Was the point that Tyson was winning or was the point that he looked uninspired and stamina-drained from constant holding and leaning by a mediocre journeyman opponent who out-weighted him by 30 lbs.

So yes, you claimed 'young' Tyson never gassed in fights, you claim 'young' Tyson couldn't be held effectively. Yes, you don't know what you're talking about :deal

rubbish, smith won a title, hes a contender and titleholder and he was beat.
there is no evidence to suggesttyson was being beat, merely stalled and spoiled.

yeah you keep saying that but you never substantiate that claim or your Tyson claim.

you are so far, just wind. but you may try, keep going.

Prime Tyson would of KO W. Klitschko, especailly knowing that his chin is glass. V Klitschko I believe would of been more of a challenge.

Cus. DÂ’Amato died in 85, the year Mike faced the likes of Sammy Scaff and Mark Young. This was when Tyson was at his absolute peak? :rofl

But wasn't Tyson in his prime when Buster Douglas kicked his ass? Just cause he didn't train hard doesn't speak to whether or not he was in his prime.

I like Tyson, but he had no inside game whatsoever. He was great coming in, but once tied up he would do nothing and wait for the ref to break them up. I still pick him to beat Wlad and Vitali, but this talk about Tyson being an inside fighter is just nonsense.

Nonsense? How does a little guy with short reach like Tyson whose best punch was to the body and the uppercut have no inside game?
Tyson not being able to fight on the inside is a myth. He was most dangerous on the inside. Thats why guys held on for their lives.

Of course Tyson was in his prime.

He even knocked Douglas down, with a little luck he could have won the fight. Imagine Douglas didn't get up from the knockdown and Tyson won the fight. Do you think any of these delusional fanboy idiots would claim Tyson wasn't in his prime? :deal

'Prime Tyson' best wins are either old Holmes who had been drinking Budweiser for 2 years or Spinks.

'Prime Tyson' is getting out of control on here especially considering those that love to talk about 'Prime Tyson' are quick to claim he was 'past Prime' @ only 24 :rofl

His era was awful with a bunch of misguided drug addicted inconsistent Heavyweight contenders that he gladly lined up and went through (no fault of his) who couldn't make one defense of the belts they had before losing.

Because of this it is basically impossible to access what 'Prime Tyson' was really made of. I don't care that he plowed through guys like Berbick, Thomas, Tubbs, Williams, not to mention Marvis Frazier or Reggie Gross. That doesn't tell me anything other that he was consistent and could beat mediocre contenders.

If you want to see something embarrassing look at Tyson first 19 fights and this is a guy who had an extensive Amatuer background fighting in the best tournaments. It is very Wilder-esque to put it lightly.

Chris Byrd was walking Vitali down and made him quit.

Tyson as overrated as he is...would total Vitali.
