He starved himself before the Douglas fight only drinking water to detox the all the champaigne out of his system.

Tyson was completely finished as a fighter 8-9 years prior to Holyfield.

This is what it comes down to when logic and facts are put out there.

My Friend. Tyson is the ATG number 1, in the first 3 rounds.

Everybody feared Tyson.. Imagin if Wlad or Haye fought the prime brutal Tyson.. They would **** their pants..

Makes no difference if he was down for 20, the rules are, the refs decision is final.

Every fighter in the nineties was juiced up, It is what it is.

Holy gradually broke Mike down simple as that really. He fought smart, boxed when he needed to, let go when he needed to and controlled the fight from the clinch, which was always Mike's biggest weakness.

Mike was one of a kind with the classic style to kill bums. As soon as the competition goes up Mike starts to fold.

So basically what it comes down to for a lot of Tyson fans out there, Tyson really beat all those guys that he lost to. Douglas got knocked out and Holyfield was on roids and blah blah blah.

This is what the OP means by overrated.

  9. The most ridiculous thing i ever heard tyson beeing "overrated":patsch. A Pre prison ,focused ,hungry humble tyson
Beats the **** out of every boxer in the history of the sport from the 1800's til today. Young tyson was a ****ing beast.

IMO, Tyson humillating lost to Douglas really Destoryed any ATG talk from me.
Tyson made Douglas a world champion with one of, if not the worst record of any heavyweight champions in boxing history. If you take out the fighters Douglas lost to the others are below 500, He was KO'd in one round by David Bay in Bay's pro debut.....

Even he admitted he was done by 1990. 1990!!! Some fighters reach their prime different stages than others and their peak years may last from 2 to 5 or more years. Fighters like Tyson or Bowe at their peak didnt stay too long at the top. While fighters like Louis, Ali, Holyfield, and the Klits did.
