Why does a heavyweight need to make any weight?

    Watch the video you dip****!!!!!

Douglas was flat on his back and the referee started counting 2 seconds later.

At the original count of 10 Douglas was ****ed but was saved by the referee and the bell.

Michael Spinks wasnt a great Heavyweight and Holmes was way past his prime.

Tyson got outboxed, outskilled, outsmarted every round against Buster Douglas a journeyman heavyweight

Tyson is incredibly overrated and gets treated like the best boxer to ever live, when guys like Evander Hoylfield were way better and they get no praise at all.

Sounds to me that you feel threatened for all the adulation that Tyson is getting for the fighter he was in his day when Wlad isn't getting the type of respect during his own era. Wlad falls in to the category of the Larry Holmes, Lennox Lewis, type of fighter who despite a consistent reign has never really excited the masses in the same manner that a Dempsey, Ali or Tyson did. Wlad will be appreciated once he's gone it's very common in boxing so you don't have to feel bad.

If you're here to support your sport then you would appreciate fighters from all era's and respect all the great Heavyweight Champions past and present particularly a fighter as decorated as Mike Tyson. He re-energized the sport and has a style that was easy to enjoy whether you were a casual fan or a hardcore purist. Not sure what's not to like from a so-called boxing fan.

Actually since you want take it that route let me explain:

Razor Ruddock x2 (Divisions #2 contender behind Tyson himself)
    Micheal Spinks (Lineal Champion)
    Larry Holmes (Former Lineal Champion)
    Pinklon Thomas (Former WBC Champion)
    Carl Williams (Top 10 Opponent)
Frank Bruno x2 (Top 10 Opponent, WBC Champion)
    Tony Tucker (IBF Champion)
Tyrell Biggs (Undefeated Former Olympic Gold Medalist)
    Trevor Berbick (WBC Champion)
    Bonecrusher Smith (WBA Champion)
    Francios Botha (Former IBF Champion)
    Tony Tubbs (Former WBA Champion)

    I wouldn't call them crackheads.

Tyson was the greatest puncher of all time but by the time he came out of prison at age 29, he was already bullshitting his way through boxing and only took the Holyfield fight because King was convinced Holyfield was shot. Pretty lousy career compared to his overall potential.

    He gets underrated and overrated.

    Like every heavyweight great does.

(seriously, name one that doesn't have both a fawning contingent and nitpicking detractors who stray well afield of analytical objectivity in either direction. Louis? Ali? Dempsey? Johnson? Marciano? Holmes? Lewis? Klitschko? All divisive...)

Evander Holyfield is counted as an ATG by most people,

outside of Riddick Bowe, who's Holyfields best win?

Probably understand what you mean, and i totally agree :good

In casuals minds Tyson was probably close GOAT.or atleast i think, they tend to believe so.

I also love Tyson and rate him highly, and could have been worth of the all hype, and could have been the GOAT.but he didn't.of course different topic for the excuses and speculation

Overrated by many, but also underrated by many.like yourself right now.

Yes,he got outboxed by Douglas and Holyfield was probably greater than Tyson.

Shortly after when Tyson won the belt.he threw all away,it's easy to see.how he approached to fights, didn't move his head, things outside of the ring etc..

Yes,all are excuses of course.but also all are easy to see by looking Tyson fights.

In his short prime,he was one of the most destructive fighters ever, and H2H there aren't many fighters i would favor over Tyson.

Tyson at the time of Douglas fight was just a shadow of himself.and way too over confident and lacked head movement, combinations etc.basically all the things that made him so great

Overrated by who ? What does it mean "overrated" in this question?
-He was undefeated, undisputed heavyweight world champion.
(He won 7 undisputed title fights.)
-He won 12 WBA and /or WBC and/ or IBF championship fights.
-He is the youngest heavyweight world champion ever.
-He's the only man who knocked Holmes out.
Overrated ? No way. But he has lots of jealous hater.
    That's all.
