Does anyone else here think that Mike Tyson would make a good trainer ? He has a wealth of boxing knowledge, and the validity to back it. He learned from the legendary Cus D`Amato. He would have much credibility with any aspiring boxers he would work with. He is a real student of the game, and he used to watch hours of films on the great fighters from the past. I wonder that the mental space he is in now, makes him someone who could significantly give back to boxing. And with all the tough times he has had in boxing and life, he could maybe get fighters to veer away from self destructive habits... Some old time good fighters turned into great trainers. What does anyone think ?

    :?

    Why does this sound facetious?

He actually is a font of boxing knowledge.

Just because he's done stupid things and made dumb choices in his life doesn't mean there isn't any sharpness going on up there. He's an avid scholar of the sweet science, and has personal experience competing against more top-flight champions than almost anyone alive.

but what if in a fight his fighter disagrees with him

    does tyson
    A) break their arm
    B) eat their ears
    C) show them how they r supposed to fight and **** the opponent up himself

    :yep

He has mellowed himself out considerably of late, and drastically compared to his wildest years in the previous decade or two.

Like with anyone, with ex-greats its a lucky dip.

Mike has enough psychological problems of his own, doesn't need to be worrying about developing the mindset of a young man.

The fact that you would make that comment clearly shows your lack of boxing knowledge... Anyone who knows anything about boxing, is aware that Tyson is incredible well read on great fighters of the past and a keen awareness of what the great fighters did to become great. Not to mention that D`Amato was one of the greatest brains in the history of boxing. And who did he teach and groom, yep Mike Tyson. You don`t have to be a rocket scientist to be a great trainer. Prime Tyson had incredible boxing skills, wasn`t just his power that got it done. And you think he lacks boxing knowledge to pass that along to other fighters????

Trained under Teddy Atlas and Freddie Roach aswell as Cus.

Tysons knowledge on the art of boxing wasnt an aspect that ever let
Mike Tyson down - but more the individual himself and his errant ways.

Tyson would love to have a fighter ruin one of Don Kings prospects:yep

    Whatever.

That was a) two years ago, b) just months after the death of his 4 year old daughter and c) not unprovoked. The guy was told by both Mike and the airport staff to **** off and kept advancing (and then kept pointing the camera once he began to back away).

The guy was asking for it.

You know who else have attacked paparazzi?

Sean Penn, Cameron Diaz, Avril Lavigne, Woody Harrelson, Bjork...

****ing, anybody that they push too far. I guess the hundreds of celebs that have been pushed to the point of a&b by those scum all must be mentally unstable?

**** the paparazzi. They're lucky all they ever get is a slap. I'm waiting for the day it comes out that a celebrity snapped and broke one of their lousy necks. That'll be a day for a bottle of champagne.

theres alot more where that came from, aint jus paps tyson goes mad at

can u imagine someone swearing at one of his fighters

in terms of knowledge, ofcourse hes up there with the best, but as far as his mental ability to stay in control of himself, you'd get more success with norman stone as the sole guy in your corner

oh and as far as the paps, yeah **** em they dickheads, but that dont make mike any less crazy

What amazes me about Tyson is his extensive English vocabulary

Whenever I hear an interview past or present, whether it be ridiculous, obscene or offensive his use of the English language is somewhat fascinating and intriguing.

Bearing in mind who he is and his upbringing it is extensive, somewhat an aggressive Russel Brand!
