Mike Tyson V Johnny Nelson

  1. This mythical match up is prime for prime. Both world champions in respectful weight classes. If Nelson moved up to HW or Tyson moved down to CW then who would come out in top?

Tyson was super quick but so was Nelsons reflexes. Nelson is quite a big, strong man himself so might bully Tyson & wear him down in the later rounds. Verdicts?

I love Nelson as much as the next guy, but no ... Just no

  3. Can you eloborate?

Do u think Tyson would get him within the 1st four rounds? Prime Nelsons reflexes were darn too quick. He break Tyson down mentally. Probably a DQ win due to tysons frustrations boilin over.

I can only say it is possible if Tyson had to do a weigh in soon before the fight, so would have to be either severely dehydrated or shed much natural musle or a combination-so he would not be himself.
I see no reason to believe that pre-prison Tyson would break down mentally.

Nelson was in two of the worst stinkers I ever saw and it was entirely his fault. He had a lot of nerve calling himself." The Entertainer". Decent link man on TV .

Tyson does a Spinks on him. One round blow out.

I also had the misfortune of watching the Deleon and Warring fights, but both were trumped by the Akinwande fight, which I saw in person. Nelson was banned from fighting in the UK for a couple of years for that one! ;)

And you are wrong about doing 'a Spinks' on him; Tyson would do 'a Marvis Frazier' on him!

Agreed. Johnny Nelson was a decent cruiserweight but did absolutely nothing above 200 lbs. Jimmy Thunder was quite possibly the best fighter he beat there while losing to everyone else who had half a name.

Either Mike Tyson in 1 round, or a replay of Tyson's performances vs Thomas and Biggs, in which he sadistically tortures Nelson before applying the coup de grace in round 8 or 9.

They probably could've sold this fight better than the Savarese fight.
