Wow check out the interview at the end, wha a weird guy golota was (and still is i guess), such a pity he was not 100% into boxing or at least it never seemed to me he was, the guy sounds complety round the bend at the end, been ages since i watched the fight, tyson really screwed him up of course, but we all know he did this **** so many times in his career what a pity, he probaly would have been KOed had he gone on, but you just never know what may have occured as tyson himself was not as nearly as good as he used to be and lost the majority of his final fights after lewis nearly killed him a few fights later.

Had to feel sorry for his team lou looked so ****ed of "what are you doing ??":-( bet he felt time had stood still for him once again and the bad **** from golotas past was out.of the bag once again

Anybody know if it's true that Golota went into the fight with a fractured cheekbone? Read that in "Facing Tyson"

    Guy had the physical tools.
Pity his brain was on the moon.

  4. He was just a "special" guy

Shame because he was a decent boxer.... He tottaly destroyed Bowe twice, until he decided to get friendly with Bowe's balls.

My girlfriend is Polish and she said he's pretty famous in poland for being mad as a hatter

    Correct.

But sadly this also proves what a incredible talent he really was. Fighting on fumes from his former self, stoned and still destroying a legit top ten opponent.

A for the threadstarter, no, even if Golata would have continued he would have quit later on due to his very low tolerance level for pain and pressure or he would have been simply Ko'ed. That fight was literally over at the weigh in when Andrew showed up with sunglasses and still could not look Mike in the eyes.......

I've actually read Tyson fractured Golota's cheekbone during the bout. I seriously doubt Golota went into the fight with a fractured cheekbone - I mean that's just ludicrous.

If your cheekbone is broken & you have a guy like Tyson trying to hit you, its highly likely permanent damage would be caused!

Surely, when Golota had a medical & was examined by the doctor vefore the bout, if there were any signs of a broken cheekbone, the doctor would have noticed?
