Don't be surprised about Floyd v Nasukawa, Iron Mike v Bob Sapp almost happened in 2003

    Sapp would have murdered Mike.

Sapp took immense punishment from Hoost (those two fights are two of the best I have seen. Japanese crowds are usually silent, but it was like a soccer match!) and Mike was shot to pieces. Bob was legit one of the baddest men on the planet, Mike's time had been and gone.

Sapp would have beat the snot out of him!

As insane as it sounds. I lean the same way as well. Mike was shot to bits at this point and with Sapps size, and mauling/fouling style it's likely that Tyson gets stopped and probably picks up a bad injury along the the way. Hoost was the better man in both fights but the Japs loved Sapp so he was allowed to get away with all sorts of rough house tactics. Sapp also had heart back then, he didn't shamelessly look to quit as soon as he had the chance. He more or less admitted on Helwani that most of his losses are dives. Guys a shameless fraud who shows up to get paid and take minimal damage. But in the early 2000s he was a roided beast and tough fight for anyone.

    True.

Ok, Lewis took forever to get Mike out a year before. But Lewis was also shot then, IMHO. And Mike NEVER faced someone like Sapp.

Ernesto should have stayed with the leg kicks because that's what did the most damage.

I agree. In the early 2000's he was hell on wheels. Even Fedor, my favourite fighter, wanted no part of him.

Glad this never happened, the kicks and knees from Sapp would have been something Mike wouldn't have been able to deal with and clearly Mike didn't want to fight under K1 rules, in that video he repeatedly said he'd fight under 'Marquis of Queensbury' rules.

Remember watching this @ the time. The sapp vs Kimo fight was funny to watch. Sapp was gassed after a round and the ref gave him extra time to recover. K-1 needed sapp to win for the whole Mike Tyson drama.

Sapp cut a killer promo on Tyson.

Side note. Sapp also beat hoost in a pro-wrestling match. Legend!
