I think the most likely scenario is Tyson getting disqualified or quitting.

    Tyson by Ko.

If someone like Ike could figure out Byrd, Tyson could do.

Tyson still a bit left in the tank up until the Lewis fight.

Tyson wouldn't have to worry about an opponent with a size advantage for once and Byrd didn't exactly have the power to keep Tyson off him.

Depends which Tyson turns up. Alot of this fight would be fought at close quarters. That's all the opportunity Tyson needs.

I see a repeat of the Botha fight but it depends which Tyson were talking about?

The fat, bald bloated version who fought Botha, Golota and Nielson? Or the Tyson that was in shape, had hair and looked very good vs Savarese, Francis and Norris?

Byrd's awkwardness and slickness might give Tyson some early problems but Tyson eventually KO's Byrd and brutally.

If someone like Ike, you talk as though Ike wasn't a skilled fighter. I'll tell you something about Ike, had he met Tyson around 99-00 he would have knocked him out.

not as skilled as Tyson prime for prime i don't think :think

why did you choose a 99-00 Tyson to compare to Ike?

Ike would have been a dangerous fight for any version of Tyson I assure you.

Why choose that version? Because that's a period where they could have realistically met.

well fine, but i am assuming the OP was referring to a prime Tyson vs Byrd of 2000-2002, not a Tyson of 99/00.

and no fooling a prime Ike would be a dangerous fight for a prime Tyson. That doesn't mean prime for prime Ike would beat Tyson.

No it doesn't but I'd have liked to have seen how Tyson would have coped late on once he'd unloaded his best shots on Ike. I think Ibeabuchi would have troubled Tyson more than Ruddock and could even defeat him.

yeah there is a fair chance i will give you that,,,

prime for prime i would still take Tyson by a hair if i had to bet,,,,

but yeah Ike was a beast, plus he far more than Tyson lost his best years.

Can't ever see Tyson knocking him out, the man took Tua's best shots like nothing. The mans work rate was incredible in that fight and his stamina unreal. What happens when Tyson has run out of ideas after failing to knock him out. Ike wouldn't be looking to just survive the fight, he would be throwing a hell of a lot of leather back.

Any Tyson since Nielsen fight loses ty Byrd.

Tyson in 2000 was better and lighter, he had better chances. He was 222-225 lbs in any fight from 99-00, but then he took year off, and vs Nielsen he was 239, vs Lewis 234. In those 2 fights he looked 3-round fighter at best. Even shot and fat Nielsen looked good vs Mike in rounds 4-6 until he suddenly quit before 7th round.

Tyson looked awful vs Nielsen and Lewis, he'd lose to Byrd after winning only 2-3 early rounds.

Byrd didn't use his feet a lot, he stood in the pocket and counter-punched. Tyson wouldn't have trouble getting close, but could he close the deal? Not sure. 50/50 fight.

If we're talking krappy Tyson, Byrd outboxes him without major hassles imho. Prime Tyson another story.
