Mike Tyson vs. David Haye: Who Wins?

Lol .. Spinks was not the man at HW during the 80's era. What a ridiculous comment. Larry was the man for the majority of the 1980's.

 

Vitali wasn't retired when the Haye-Wladimir shenanigans went down at that strip mall, nor was he retired when Haye and Wladimir finally fought. Vitali Klitschko was 'the man' after Lennox retired and he never lost his status in the ring at the hands of any other fighter (and returned after a four year layoff to destroy a guy who brother Wladimir had previously struggled with, reclaiming his WBC strap).

Furthermore, (like I said), the convoluted alphabets had made a mess of the division by then...

 

Haye would have zero chance. Spinks was better than Haye in every way apart from power.

 

Haye was faster and had better reflexes. He was taller, and had more reach. He was stronger, and like you said had far more power. Haye was better than Spinks in every department.

 

Wladimir was the man who beat Byrd who was the man at the time. Wladimir was also the man who beat Peter, Haye, Povetkin at their best. Wladimir fought and beat the better opponents. Yes Vitali fought a out of shape Peter, Wladimir fought the best version twice. Wladimir also beat Byrd far easier than his brother.

 

Spinks was more technically sound than Haye in every department. His right hand was far more accurate and he threw it a lot more frequently. His movement was superior and he was a much harder puzzle to solve than one dimesional Haye.
He also had a greater HW record. Spinks is a genuine ATG. Haye is a nobody.

 

Haye is now better than Spinks? Ugh.... too many crazies here...

 

Byrd was never 'The Man' at HW.

You've lost the plot. Now you're making it more about which Klitschko you like better as opposed to recognizing the fact that:

1. Vitali was almost universally recognized as 'The Man' at HW after Lewis retired

and

2. No one had ever defeated him in the ring to remove ^that distinction, lineals and alphabets be d@mned.

Let's hope this doesn't end in further derailment or evasion of the points...

 

We disagree. Haye is not a nobody. Unified cruiserweight champion, WBA heavyweight belt holder, and in the record books fighting in a world championship fight with the biggest weight disadvantage. Hate Haye, but pretending he is a nobody just makes you sound silly.

 

The 'Man ' title at HW was vacant until 2009.

 

When Vitali retired he was the highest ranked guy, which makes him number one in the heavyweight division.

 

As a HW Haye is the definition of a nobody. Burce Seldon his higher on the ATG list than Haye.

 

Vitali was than man until he retired. Wladimir fought the best in the heavyweight division and was the recognised champion after.

 

That just makes him the highest ranked fighter. Why even try to bother saying "The Man", when that's all it is, a top ranking.
I see too many people trying to pass of "The Man" as being something legitimate.

Being moved to the top position due to a retirement isn't exactly something to brag about.
