That's what I tink as well and really wanted to see the fight instead of the made to order opponents they were matching Mike against. Come on--Savarese? Julius Francis? Mathis? Neilsen? Etienne?

I think David's power late is a huge problem for Tyson at that stage of the game. And the other big factor is David finally fighting a guy he won't have to chase down the second half of a fight to land his left hook. Tyson will be right there still trying to go forward and to slug away. Some fotwork and mobility would serve Mike a ton late against this guy but he sure had long since reached the point of doing the same thing the same way and fighting like he was on railroad tracks. And the Tuaman definately can take advantage of that kind of thing late.

Would have been a terrific match for us fans and I wanted to see Mike taking on riskier fights than he did and at least fight dangerous type opponents like a Mercer or a Tua & not the opponent selection we got instead.

tua is a one trick pony. He could hurt mike with the left but i doubt he would.

Tyson had superior speed and defense, and therefore would win. Tua might have had the better chin, but even that chin would get rocked by Tyson's explosive power. Tua was too slow to land on a consistent basis.

Then again, Tua would finally fight somebody who comes towards him instead of the opposite.

Chris Byrd was able to hurt Tua with body punches ... Tyson takes this ... he would just have to watch out for the left hook and use his speed and prolific body attack ... Tua would be covering up

Tua is good. One of my favorite boxers, I like exciting fighters but he is a bit over rated too.

Tyson has more speed, talent, bobbing and weaving, combinations and most importantly had shown the ability to take monstor punches.

    Tua will be schooled.

What version of Mike are we talking about? if it's 1986-88 Tyson then I him winning a wide decision over the game but outmatched Tua.
If it's late 90's early 00' Tyson then I can see Tua maybe beating him.

This is one of the fights that really should have happened. Guaranteed fire works.

Prime 88-89 Tyson beats Tua by wide decision, Tyson has too many weapons in his arsenal for Tua back in those days..

Flash foward 10 years, 97-98, and Tua wins by KO, OR DQ, Tyson back in the late 90's was too mentally unstable, unprepared, didn't have the head or upper body movement, and lacked the toughness Tua had...

Tua like Corrie Sanders is bit over-rated on this site...

He takes Tua to places Tuas never been

    Tua is VERY ovverated

(and if anyone wants a discussion on that, im more than happy)

This is like asking who'd win out of Joe Frazier and Derek Chisora

big punchers in the extreme but tuas got to land flush first to win.

odds on Tyson with his better defence is going to land first flush, so hes odds on to win.

Tyson admitted hmself that after the Holyfield fights, he basically gave up on his career and knew he would never become champion again.
