Depends on which version of Tua shows up. If it’s the same version who fought Ike, I see a late stoppage for Tua. Anything less than that and a prime Mike should win in an exciting fight that demands a rematch.
If we put the Tyson that destroyed spinks in with Tua that wipes out Ruiz then we're in for a exciting time. Tyson had the hand speed and tua the better Chin ,so I see Mike out working him for at least 6 round s but not total one sided I add .With the first half over ,I think we see Tyson slowing down and David gaining confidence. It may turn in to a mauling match here on with both men taking turns to pot shot. As we near the last 4 round s Tyson is starting to stumble and getting hit more oft. A tired Tyson comes out for the tenth ,to find Tua bombing in to him .Mike would be unable to hit back and finds him in to the ropes helpless. A devastating hook from Tua drops him almost unconscious on the mat.
If I would be Tysons Manager and had seen the Tua - Ibeabuchi Fight before, I would probably avoid Tua here. That would be a Infight for 12 Rounds against the iron chinned Samoan. No advantages for everything Tyson was made for: Slipping the jab, head-movement, fighting a target on the backfoot, ending fights rather quick. There is also no real power advantage here, just sharper punches, speed, and better movement. Tyson has to win this on points. Not the easiest task against the hard hitting Tua to tell the truth.....
Tyson was much faster than tua, prime vs prime I say Tyson defintly wins. Many would bring up tua had a better chin but what everyone forgets is that Tyson had a iron chin before drugs and alcoholism made him more damagable
This. Tyson was just better boxer, with better punch variety and better speed. It would be an exciting fight when two short aggressive HWs collide.
I don't think that this would be nearly as exciting as some people think. I think that after Tua took a few Tyson combinations, his attack would lose a lot of its momentum, and he would stand back to get picked apart. Even with a post prison version of Tyson, I would not be betting money on Tua.
Tua had more power & an even better chin, though both excellent in these departments. Would not matter, Tyson's greater skill, accuracy, combinations would prevail. UD.
I would bet Tua. A post prison version of Tyson was a 3 round fighter who was unstable mentally. I don`t rate David Tua as highly as some do but I think he could stop that version of Iron Mike.
When Team Tyson was on their foreign tour, this was the match I wanted. In Auckland---where there would be 80,000 fans cheering for the Tuaman. It would have sold big and been a boost to the sport of boxing where the casual fans could get excited for. And lets see if Tyson can go into the lion's den and come out with the win. Much much better opposition than the Francis & Saverese type bouts and a much sterner test. I like Tua late by brutal ko---when Mike gets tired he does not have the footwork and mobility or style to keep away from Tua. He'd be right in front of him. I always wanted Tyson in there with Tua & Mercer. 1 of them will get to him late and out-tough him in entertaining fights.
