Tyson would destroy Wilders body and Wilders legs would become useless after 2 to 3 rounds. Wilder can’t fight going backwards and would lose his snap punching on a downward angle. Bad matchup for Wilder
Tyson actually unified the 3 heavyweight titles and lineal title and then mopped up most of the top ten of the heavyweight division and he did this in a few years. 80s Mike at his best like others have said was fast of feet and foot, elusive, powerful and could take a punch. There are some guys Tyson doesn't match up stylistically well against, Wilder is not one of these guys. Tyson KO within 5 rounds, probably earlier.
Tyson too fast and quick for Wilder. Also had the chin to take a single shot from Wilder. Wilder had a decent chin, but he would be fighting a guy who is faster, more skilled and is an ATG puncher in his own right and punches accurately and with combinations. Wilder would be in with another Tyson who also stops him.
Compared to what era, the 80`'? The 90's? Usyk dominates every fighter from the 80's except Tyson and Holmes, the 80's were a crap era in terms of heavyweights.
'Prime Mike Tyson beats everybody from this comparatively weak era.' That was the post you quoted and plainly you agree that Mike Tyson beats everyone from this era.
Isn't hindsight a joy? Mike was always a bad match up for Wilder though. Too quick and aggressive with level changing to boot.
Tubbs had nowhere near the power of Usyk and Tucker would have been out-skilled, Spinks was too small knocking out Conney didn`t mean much and I felt Douglas wa a C-tier fighter.
