Exactly. I agree, a huge guy like Lennox can waddle in out of shape at 50 years old and a 5'8 or 5'9 welterweight is not going to come near him. But someone like Tyson or any of the smaller champions with short or normal reach is going there to be picked off by a prime welterweight. Definitely they would injure themselves throwing punches in a completely deconditioned state. And they'd be gassed inside 3 minutes if they were just of the street and unfit. It's really an insult to these great champions when people don't understand how much conditioning they needed to display their amazing talents and athleticism. Years of conditioning and training, at the highest level.
Yap all you want about conditions, but also remember there's weight classes for a reason, and Tyson is hardly an average fighter. If he's still hitting the bags to stay in shape and he can go even two -three rounds before getting winded I would still pick him to beat Mayweather, but you're entitled to your own opinion. You seem to think Tyson's completely out of shape, and I don't, that appears to be the major difference. He's not in fighting shape, but he's still looks like he can move to me. Hell if you think about it there's only about 10 years difference in age and about 80lbs in Tysons favour and do you really expect Floyd to try trading with him? At best he'd be running all over the ring hoping never to engage. In any event it's a very stupid topic.
I stated that IF Tyson's even half-fit or got any sort of decent wind even from the running machines (I'm not even requiring boxing or bag training !) then it becomes far more dangerous for Floyd, so maybe we're in agreement there. Yes, they have weight classes for a reason, but they also have intense and serious conditioning regimes for a reason too. Yeah, I agree, very stupid topic. :good
You do not already? I am no fan of Lil Floyd, but he is clearly a top 30 all-time Queensberry rules 'pound for pound' fighter. On that same list Tyson is struggling to be top 60.
