I pasted tis title not because I feel Tyson is the hardest puncher ever but because he snapped his shots better than Ngannou does and Foreman and Shavers are mentioned on this vid too, thoughts please. This content is protected
Clearly Ngannou carries big time power but there's a difference in punching power between top level boxers and top level mma fighters. McGregor is the prime example. In MMA terms, he's very dangerous and powerful with his hands.... look at what he did to the likes of Aldo, Alvarez, Chad Mendes, dropped Diaz 3 times etc but he gets in the ring with Floyd and what he did land clean made no dent whatsoever
Before McGregor stepped in a boxing ring he supposedly had freakish power. First pro boxing match he landed a flush uppercut on a 40 year old 145 pound man and had no effect at all. That really says it all
UFC power can be misleading since they’re wearing 2 ounce gloves with much less padding meaning KO’s are easier. McGregor looked like a power house in UFC but Floyd laughed at his shots. We don’t know if Ngannou’s power will transition well over to boxing no matter how many times Joe Rogan insists it will...
That has really nothing to do with it, MMA fighters in general don't know how to throw a proper punch with full weight behind it. That takes years of focus and training that MMA fighters don't bother do. That's why you'll never see anyone in MMA that is the equivalent of a Pacquiao or Tyson. You'll see fighters with lots of knockouts like Ngannou, but he's competing against fighters who equally don't know **** about throwing a punch, or taking one. Put them in a boxing ring, that power suddenly appears to go away... because it was just never there to begin with.
I still say the hardest strike in Combat Sports history was Prime Mirko Cro Cops left roundhouse kick.
Ngannou isn't even champion of the ufc, not sure why he deserves such fanboyism. 4 oz mitts are not boxing gloves.
Kicks are usually more powerful than punches, Joe Rogan broke Ngannou`s world punch record with a kick.
