Swarmers are the kind of fighter that would give Fury trouble. High conditioned fighters who can keep coming and are quick with good footwork. Tyson, Frazier, Marciano kind of fighters.

This style has fallen by the wayside for the boxer-puncher, fighters who can do a little of both, but really don't excel at either one.

It is a style matchup. I picked Tyson on body punching since I think that is the key to beating Tyson Fury, but the variable is Tyson Fury's size which could be just too big naturally for Mike..

You are aware that Mike went the distance with Tony Tucker, Bonecrusher Smith and Mitch Green in his 86-88 prime?

A 19-5 Bonecrusher Smith took him the full 12 rounds.

So it’s a myth that Mike tore through everyone he faced and was an unstoppable knockout artist.

He could be spoilt, he could be tied up and he was beatable.

The only time Fury was given any trouble in the Whyte fight were the couple times when Dillian attempted to swarm him.

It wasn’t the 15 left hooks flush to the chin, and the other right and left hands to the body that put Whyte off swarming?

He got KO’d because he walked inside on the centre line as a swarmer would do and didn’t see a right uppercut down the pipe.

The biggest thing against Tyson is that his peak was short and he didn't beat many big names.
But the same goes for Fury.

Tyson had a deeper resume and fought many more top10 opponents and styles.

Peak Tyson's output, speed and head movement would have been too much for Fury imo. And if he managed to tag, run and clown, like he did to Wlad, he would be very disappointed when the scorecards were read, because they would have never gotten the nod from the judges.

This is all true but Fury's best wins: Ghost of Klitschko, Wilder and Whyte. It's a better list but just looking at the best few wins would put Fury below a few guys he shouldn't be put below

Height, reach, weight advantage, has heart.... Freakish movement for such a big guy would give Iron Mike a lot of problems.

Offensively Mike has all the tools but he could be discouraged and Fury would 100% be up for the challenge.

No result in this contest would suprise me me. People saying Fury has no chance need a reality check.

After Fury beats Mike: "My backs broken, spinal"

Mike has to work too hard to get in range and when he does it ends in a back breaking clinch.

He could beat a younger version of Fury, but prime for prime Fury just manhandles him & mentally destroys him also.

    Fury stops him mid late.

I'm not being a fan boy at all, I just think this current crop of heavyweights is the worst we've had for some time, I could argue that you are a fan boy based on your views but that would be childish and probably not a fair assessment on you because I don't actually know you.
In my previous post I never said the 13 people Tyson fought in 86 were all world beaters but fighting 13 times in one year is no small feat for any fighter, there were a few good names in there too, contrast that with the poor work ethic of these modern day fighters and it's laughable.
Compare Tyson Fury's record and tell me he doesn't have his fair share of tomato cans on there too, didn't he struggle with the likes of McDermott?
People pick and choose what they want to see.
It was painful watching Whyte struggle to throw a punch without losing balance and for a fighter of that calibre to be the number one contender for the title says it all about this era.
Is Fury a good boxer yes, is he an all time great? In my opinion no, would he beat a prime Tyson? **** no!! Wilder touched him up and is as crude as they come, Im sure Tyson would get to him and wouldn't let him off the hook,
But we'll never know so this conversation will go on.
In the eyes of fury fan boys he can do no wrong, if you were to put him in there with Derek chisora again and fury boxed his ears off fury fans wouldnt stop telling everyone what a boxing master class it was etc but if you put Joshua or someone else in with that same fighter suddenly the opponent is no longer credible. Modern day fans are a different breed

I agree with you! he will go down as a phenomenal talent/ legend but he didn't fulfil his potential, scary when you think what he did achieve in that short space of time

Fury wouldn't allow himself to get hit by Mike??? Did fury allow himself to get hit by Cunningham etc? Tyson is light-years faster than anyone fury has fought, The more likely scenario is Tyson would catch him at some point and there would be no undertaker moment like vs Wilder because prime Tyson threw punch in bunches (fast punches)

The Fury from last night? Mike Tyson obliterates.

Mike Tyson had insane power and speed. I see Fury getting KO'd inside of 3-4 rounds.

This is if we're talking about prime 80's Mike though.

Prime Fury vs Prime Tyson would be interesting, but I'd say 70/30 Mike KO's or wins via decision due to knockdowns.

If Wilder can knock Fury down 4 times, then Mike Tyson will obliterate. Mike Tyson will catch him and knock him down.

I don't see Fury KO'ing Mike, so he'd have to survive the distance.

Fury has a 30% of winning via UD if he's 100% fit and focused, but I'd say 7/10 Mike Tyson.
