Part of the problem for Tyson is styles. The guys that beat old Foreman seemed to use hit and run attacks where they would punch and try to move away from Foreman before he could hit back. Tyson didn't really fight like this and his lack of height and reach could make it harder to land on Foreman and then move out of the way before Foreman hit back.
I'm not with Cus on this. No come backing old guy even though its Foreman is going to beat prime Tyson. Its all mental with Tyson, and I don't think Cus would've said it if he knew how weak Tyson was mentally, he swallowed the lot and **** it. If the two had met when it was talked about, Tyson gives George a horrible savage beating, the bombs would be coming to fast and to often for George to recoup and set himself like when he catches a big punch. People would be pitying Foreman after a minute of the first round, and it wouldn't be long before hes off his feet
I always thought and still do that Foreman was all wrong for Tyson. Foreman stops Tyson. As for the comparison of how both dealt with Alex Stewart, Tyson wins easy, Foreman struggles, instead compare how both dealt with Holyfield. Holyfield calmly took apart Tyson twice, yet struggled mightily with Foreman.
The troll is asking about 88 foreman.of course that a young foreman is all wrong for tyson and The 88-91 version is still interesting
Cooper was stopped* by a body shot, so it's far from clear how his chin is germane in this context. *More precisely, he failed to answer the next bell.
At bare minimum, the Cooper fight is instructive for an analysis of contrasting styles. Cooper was a peek-a-boo fighter exactly the same size as Tyson with almost exactly the same array of strengths and weaknesses. And against Foreman he looked utterly helpless, like a ten year old kid getting mauled by a bear.
Stewart took the fight to 4Man and was a whisker away from a stoppage loss in the second as a result. From there on he fought on the back foot , sticking n moving. Tyson doesn't have a backfoot game to fall back on if he's getting battered too much coming forward.
Bert Cooper was terrible! Tyson was on a different planet than Cooper in terms of talent! Stop wasting my time with that garbage. You're grasping at straws
You're comparing Bert Cooper and mike Tyson? My goodness. One was an ATG heavyweight champion, the other was a below average journeyman Who cares that Cooper fought out of a peek a boo...he was garbage. Tyson was elite
