The story goes that when Cus D'Amato was training Mike Tyson he gave Mike explicit instructions on how Mike would beat every great heavyweight in the history of boxing. Except one. "Don't ever fight George Foreman," Cus told Mike. "He's all wrong for you." George himself seems to have heard something about this story, and refers to it obliquely in an interview he gave about why their fight never happened. A little more light may have been shed on this subject by the recent author of a "biographical novel" about Cus D'Amato. In an interview about all the research he did about Cus, Scott Weiss says that Cus told Mike to stay away from George Foreman because Foreman looped his right hand, coming around and under, which would be lethal to the peek-a-boo defense. Scott never says who told him this. See the interview here. http://www.saturdaynightboxing.com/2013/12/q-dr-scott-weiss-on-cus-damato-part-i.html?m=1
