I like Mike by late stoppage here after being behind on the scorecards. Thoughts?

I actually like Mike by EARLY stoppage, see what slow starter Joe did? See how he managed to get Ellis out there in the 4th round way before Joe's diesel powered engine warms-up.
With fast starter tyson it would have been worse and quicker. If Ellis ran from his life, he would lose a decison

I disagree; I could see a Tyson KO2; where Ellis edges the first ala Tubbs.

Or even more likely; Ellis landed more in a first round knockout loss ala Williams! ;)

Mike Tyson destroys him in the opening seconds. Watch Tyson vs Frazier.

Kind of a strange opponent to put against Tyson. I don't see Ellis lasting more than 5 rounds even if he runs like an Olympic sprinter. He would need a baseball bat to hurt him and wouldn't be able to take more than 2 or 3 flush bombs within a round. Just too small and lacks the durability and style to really do much, brave as he was. Ellis would make for a hell of a light heavyweight today tho.

Maybe Ellis could pull something off against the washed Tyson who fought Lennox. Even then I'd still favor Tyson.

I see a quick knockout for Tyson. Mike was a fast starter, had quick hands with explosive power. Ellis was a decent boxer and had good power behind that sneak right hand, but I can't envision him holding off Tyson.

Lol Joe Frazier destroyed Jimmy Ellis so Tyson does it just as quick if not quicker.

I agree with those who are calling for an early stoppage of Ellis by Tyson. A agree that Mike's a fast starter, and IMHO, he also hit harder than Frazier did. I don't see what Ellis had that could have held Mike off for long. Bad match up for James.
