It really is one of those fights that is hard to pick for me.
We know Joe can be stopped and hurt fast, and that's when Tyson at his best, but Maybe it's too easy to say that?
    I don't know, it's a tough one for me.

I've always liked Tyson over Joe, all day long. Fast starter, slow starter, two handed puncher, one handed puncher. Tyson easily faster and Joe always chugging into range. On top of all this Tyson has that uppercut. Furthermore Joe isn't going to tie Tyson up which is one of the biggest necessities to beat him. Lewis and Holyfield tied him up consistently and Douglas did when he had to as well.

Bottom line is JOE, IMO, just isn't going to be able to drag him into that deep water that he loves. He doesn't have the size to lean on him and wear him down and won't be trying to anyway. It all adds up to a night where Tyson wows everyone. Balanced posters point out Joe was a stylistic dream for Tyson while his fans proclaim his invincibility from the rooftops.

Yes,Tyson's style all wrong for Joe. Frazier would do better against the likes of Muihammad Ali and prime Larry Holmes than Tyson would but,as has been said,Joe would n't have the oppurtunity to drag Mike into deep water. That would be Frazier's best and only chance here.

Tyson had that uppercut (and hook to the body) plus superior foot movement.
Tyson has every advantage going except heart but that wouldn't be a factor here.

I think post FOTC, Joe Frazier was not the same fighter.
He had made his millions and was certainly not in the same shape, conditioning wise that he was against Ali.
If he comes in to fight in that shape, then he makes things hard for Tyson.
He loved a fight - and Frazier would start smoking, how would Tyson cope with that.

For the record i like both fighters.

Joe, slowish starter, Mike, very fast starter. Mike faster, Mike bigger.

Very bad these things in combination. I like Mike big.

Say what u want about his performances against Foreman(he did better in the rematch tbf), he was gonna keep coming forward regardless. He has an ATG heart way more than Tyson for sure but the durability is not in his favor. Wouldn't even say he has the power either.

From what I've seen, you beat Tyson by fighting off the backfoot, staying within range n countering aggressively yet not recklessly. Either having big power(Lewis) gets him out in the mid rds or attrition of consistent punishment(Holyfield n Douglas). All utilized clinching n were not gonna b bullied by rib shots that deviated their winning strategies.

Douglas caught lightning for one night bcuz overall he was not that good but he still pulled off a shocking upset arguably the biggest in sports history. Gotta give him that credit can't take that away. Out of shape, too busy screwing Japanese women, etc aint Douglas fault he showed up. Mike didn't n paid 4 it embarrassingly.

You've obviously never watched Tyson (or Frazier) fight if you think Tyson had every advantage.

I'm not saying Frazier "has every advantage" though, am I?

To be fair Joe was very light on his feet and IMO had the better head movement
