Louis is a nightmare for Tyson. Tyson is someone who needs things to go to plan either get the early knockout or coast off early momentum. Louis is someone who dealt with things going wrong better than any ATG HW. Louis was much easier to knock off his feet than keep there. The earliest Louis was ever KOd was round 8 in his final fight with Marciano.

Don't know where people got the idea Tyson could hit harder than prime Louis from.

Did Galento have better speed than Tyson? Was he as tenured in the philosophy of landing punches that the opponent does not see coming? Tyson likely lands multiple hooks, Marciano also caught Louis with some big rights and was nowhere near as fast as Tyson

My ranking for hand speed is Patterson>Ali>Tyson>Dempsey>Louis.

Tyson's power was proven against far bigger and far better opponents than the ones Louis faced.

I favor Tyson as well but holy **** this is so off base.

1, What the **** does Galento have to do with anything?

    2. McBride and Williams landed on Tyson with ease, yet they were nowhere near as fast as Louis. See where I'm going with this?

Mostly bigger, yes. Far better, no. Even if the premise was to be true, Tyson lost to the best guys he faced anyway.
Louis did more damage to the bigger guys so it's not like it's up to question what a 225+ pounder vs Louis would look like.
There's an assumption that if Tyson faced the best 180-200 pounders from Louis's resume he'd crush them due to the weight discrepancy, yet, 180 and 190 lbs guys stood up to the power of Dempsey, Louis, Liston and Marciano for many rounds before crumbling or surviving to the final bell, I don't see why Tyson would be an exception here.
Tyson and Louis are two of the best punchers of all time, alongside Dempsey, Liston and Lewis. It's up to debate who hit hardest but let's be real, there wouldn't be much difference between getting hit by these guys.
Handspeed and power is pretty much the same for these two.

The 1988 Tyson would be an insurmountable obstacle for Louis, as well as many other ATG HWs (1988 Tyson only!).

Louis KO'd Buddy Baer and Primo Carnera. Both the size of the K2 brothers. Hit Baer so hard he spun around in a circle.

Galento was popping Louis with left hooks besides the one he knocked him down with

Joe doesn't have faster hands than Tyson wtf. He threw shorter punches, which even then weren't necessarily as fast as the punches that Tyson threw from behind his back / legs.

Tyson has everything to win this fight quite easily, easier than people think. Much stronger, faster, more trained, more dynamic, with a better jaw and greater skills. I don't see any advantage for Louis. I consider Brown Bomber the best fighter ever from a historical perspective, but a H2H with Tyson would be a brutal verification for him. Baer, Braddock, Nova, Farr, Conn... none of them are close to Tyson, not at all.

Louis slipped and blocked the vast majority of them in fairness, problem was that it was pretty much all Galento threw!

Agree 100%--Tyson was such a force back then! Explosive power in both hands!! (I think he would overwhelm Louis early--KO or stoppage in roughly 5 rounds tops.)
