Thats where your wrong, Kimbo's a very known fighter, just look at how many hits his youtube videos get, that should give a good idea of how popular he is. I would say 90% of my friends know who Kimbo is, ask them who Samuel Peter or Wlad is, you might get 20% of them that say he's a fighter. Kimbo's crowds are huge, and I think it's pretty safe to say he's one of the most popular MMA fighters right now.
Tyson aint fighting nobody these days. I've already heard he was supposed to fight Holfield, do MMA ect not happening.
Being popular on YouTube does not make you a world-renowned fighter. And it also doesnt mean the general public (besides 16-24 year old internet surfers) knows, or gives a damn about you.
There the ones that get there dad to buy them the PPV's, or better yet pay for it themselves. Yesterday I was out with a buddy of mine playing pool, a couple 18 yearolds next to us over heard us talking about Kimbo and his youtube videos and joined in on the conversation. I'm not saying Kimbo is as popular as Tyson, but he does have a ton of fans and alot of people do know who is believe it or not, I would go as far to say he's probably somewhere in the top 5 of the most popular MMA fighters currently fighting today.
Fedor, Anderson Silva, GSP, Matt Hughes, Chuck Liddel, Wanderlei Silva, BJ Penn, Mirko Crocop, Randy Couture, Big Nog, Tito Ortiz, Tim Silvia & even Ken Shamrock are more well known to the general public than Kimbo is. That's 12 but I could probably name quite a few more well known MMA fighters with more recognizable names than Kimbo.
I disagree, the average guy dont know who half of those guys are, my dad and my uncle even know who Kimbo is, the guy is more popular than you think RUSKULL, I'm not saying that makes him better than those you have named, just more known, youtube made him a very big star.
Holyfield announced that there may be a Tyson rematch when Holyfield released his new book. It was never going to happen, I think they just pay for Tysons name...
