Id have to watch fights of lewis from that period before i could say. that was way before i watched boxing, so i dont have a grasp for what lewis was like in 92. By the mid to late 90s it is obvious lewis was the better fighter, but going back to 92 I dont know how good lewis was then basically you have tyson getting worse and lewis getting better as time goes on. maybe at some point in the earlier part tyson would have won.
Well in 92 its a tough 1. Tyson already started losing focus then especially after the loss to Buster. however dont take anything away from busters win. He could've gave any1 trouble that night in tokyo. Lewis wasnt in his prime but thats not to say he wasnt a great fighter either. so 92 is tough but a prime lewis vs a prime tyson ala june of 1988 would be tyson all the way imo by brutal knockout either early or late by decision depending if one of mike's supershots landed clean.
I think in 1992 this would be a toss-up. Tyson was fading whilst Lewis was rising - at this point they probably meet in the middle. Peak Lewis owns peak Tyson. It's not even close.
Lennox Lewis is bigger, stronger, taller and a much more skilled and talented boxer than any version of Mike Tyson, Lewis wins this every time, and any time.
That is a big if. Considering Lewis made both Holyfeld and Tyson his bitches I do not see how you could see any other outcome but a lewis win. Plus given the fact Tyson has a bad habit of quitting when he faces pressure there can be no other reasonable outcome other than Tyson getting ktfo as was the outcome of the fight that did happen or him quitting on his stool which is what he wanted to do before he got ktfo. Tyson is not even in the same class as the Englishman never was and Tyson knew it. That is why he avoided Lewis like the plague. Anyone that believes that Tyson would survive Lewis most likely picked Peter to beat Klitchko.
The one thing Tyson fans could say was that by the time the fight happened 'Iron Mike' was shot. However, a Lewis fan could also point out that Lennox was past his prime - though clearly not shot, as Mike was. I think Tyson only took the fight for the $$$ and knew he was getting his ass whipped - after all, in the mid-90's Don King paid Lennox $4m step aside money so a fight with Bruce Seldon could be made. I wonder why
Although Tyson had already had been beaten by 1992 and lost his aura of invincibility that he heavily relied on, I still think he would have been too much for Lennox Lewis at around this time. Any time after 1996 Lennox Lewis would of beaten Mike Tyson with something to spare. If you compare them overall Lennox Lewis is by far the superior boxer.
Tyson beats Lewis so bad his mom jumps in the ring and starts hitting Tyson with her ****ing handbag! A slightly over the hill Lewis took eight rounds, eight rounds! to take an over the hill, shot, no head movement, no combination punching no nothing Tyson out! Christ that says it all.
Yes but I think Lennox Lewis just wanted to put a beating on Tyson in that fight, just because it took 8 rounds to knock tyson out does not mean lewis was not capable of getting tyson out of there earlier. Lewis had him hurt in the first round if i remember rightly. Lewis wanted to give Tyson a long, one sided beating and get paid handsomely for it.
