Max Kellerman commented afterwards that he felt there was a bit of a sadist about Lennox Lewis in that fight, and I am inclined to agree. To be fair, Tyson took everything Lewis threw and showed great heart to last as long as he did, because let's face it he was a punchbag.
Done to death. Lewis beats Tyson post prison as he got much better and Tyson was much worse. Tyson KOs Lewis pre prison. Prime Tyson beats prime Lewis with speed, head movement, and huge bombs against an always suspect chin. You MUST have a very solid chin to deal with prime Mike. Though I can't stand him this is why Holyfield was always better suited against younger Mike than Lewis.
I don't think the supposed "Prime" Tyson ever beats Lewis or Holyfield. No version of Tyson would ever beat Holyfield. Ever.
:rofl until the neilson fight in 01 Tyson was always much faster than Lewis, when they fought Tyson was WASHED UP.
prime Tyson can Beat Any Heavyweight Ever!!!! He Can Be Beat By Very Few, But He Can Beat Any Heavy Ever Period Point Blank Enough Said!!!!
You two can keep telling yourselves that in every thread until the end of time and it still wont be true. sorry. The majority of boxing analysts and fans old enough to have watched all three careers from the beginning disagree.
1992 was two years after Buster Douglas separated Tyson from his senses. I'll take Lewis in this fight. Lewis was a tremendous fighter. His is easily the finest fighter to come out of the Canadian boxing scene, which is responsible for teaching Lewis how to fight.
Tyson in late 80's early 90's was someone i would pick to beat almost every heavyweight that ever existed a 1992 Tyson would have lewis on the canvas KO
I'd pick Lewis. I think the first round on the fight they actually had would be a template of how things would unfold. The size difference is enormous. In the first round, Tyson may have won the round but it was a template to his doom, as Lewis hurt him repeatedly with uppercuts and Lewis simply impossed his size on him, leaning on him and just out muscling him.
