I’m an 11 stone 35 year old father of two and would stand the same chance against any version of Tyson as Lenny would, and I really mean that. Tyson would destroy him in seconds regardless of venue/rules. No basic hard nut takes Tyson.
Dave Allen would put Lenny McLean to sleep, David Price would make him even uglier than he was and if he tried to do any of that cowardly biting stuff (what kind of hard man bites?) he'd get caught hard before he can sink his gnashers in. Prime Tyson beats McLean in one round in a ring, in a pub, in a restaurant or "on the cobbles" where Lenny allegedly never lost a fight, probably beating up drunk people half his ogre like size.
Never seen either fight so f##ked it I know but Bronson had a moustache big enough to swing him round with. Thinking might be an advantage for Lenny lol .. Probably time for bed been at the beer but that fight on the cobbles would be filthy as
I've always wondered who was on the cobbles, Ryu? Sagat? Chun Li? I hope Lenny wasn't hitting and biting girls if the latter did enter the arena that is "The Cobbles". Personally I think it's all a load of blown up nonsense, he entered a ring where the rules were allowed to be bent to breaking point and fought against men a lot smaller than him at times and he gets lauded by blokes with the zips on their Lambretta track tops done right up to their chins as some sort of boxing monster that would have beaten anyone, inbetween each suck of the finger nail as they get the last bits of low grade Charlie out.
Honestly: After Wilder-Fury 2 i am not sure if Deontay would beat Lenny in a street fight. He has a punchers chance when Lenny comes in, otherwise he gets demolished by punches, ellbows, headbutts, etc. Especially since it looks Wilder cant land his right hand flush if someone is very close to him. Wilder weights 210-230 lb (lets say 215 at his best), McLean 280. And this counts if something like "running someone over" is allowed, i mean something what Rahman did to Lewis in their brawl in the studio. My avatar would be too much for McLean, too fast, too powerfull, too much skill, and also a very effective street fighter. McLean is bigger and i am sure can lift more weight, but he is slower, less skilled and easier to get hit. To me a prime Tyson would beat a prime Ali in the street and more or less all pro Boxers that ever lived.
Wilder goes from invincible with the best special move in boxing to having a punchers chance against Lenny McLean in one defeat. Wilder is a supreme athlete, he is a KO machine, McLean lost 5 of his 15 unlicensed fights, people pretend he just lost the first one to Shaw but he lost one third of his unlicensed fights. He would wear McLean out simply by avoiding him and then he'd take him out.
You talking like Boxing is 1-1 the same as street fighting, if this is your definition, ok. I said in a street fight, not in a Boxing fight after Queensberry. In a Boxing match McLean would be lost against Wilder. You can not "wear someone simply by avaoiding him and take him out" in a street fight like you can in Boxing, simply because they are so many possibilities what to do, not only 4 punches, no ellbows, no kicks, no grappling, no headbutts, no running over (take down), etc., all not possible in Boxing. MMA is closer to a street fight then Boxing, and many stuff what works in Boxing (especially defensive strategies) dont really work in a MMA or street fight. And Lenny - like UK self defence expert Geoff Thompson - had very effective headbutts but you cant use them in combat sport, except maybe in the old Vale Tudo. Bas Rutten also knows how to use your head very effective to do damage, Holyfield of course knows it too. Put Lennox Lewis in a street fight against Rahman, i am not sure if Lennox wins. Rahman is maybe the more effective street fighter, Lewis definalty the better boxer. In a street fight McLean would run to Wilder and and it would be clear after 5-10 seconds who would have the upperhand. And as we saw Wilder has trouble if someone goes after him. Hes like a sniper with a sniper rifle, but if you ran close to the rifle its useless. An other exmaple: Street Fight or MMA fight: Lennox Lewis age 35 vs. Brock Lesnar age 30. Who wins? As much combat sport fans dislike the WWE for being show (which is true), Lewis has to land one big shot on Lesnars head to take him out, otherwise Lesnar will ram him to the floor, and Brock is an animal who knows how to take people down. As a Boxing fan i wold cheer for Lennox, but i would have fear for him to lose honestly. In a Boxing fight he kills Lesnar, but MMA or street it would be critical.
McClean was just a thug who seemed to enjoy beating up people half his size. He may do well in a street fight where biting, head butting etc were allowed - very much his skill base. But given how fat, unfit and technically inept he was he really shouldn't be spoken of in the same breadth as any pro boxer let alone the legendary Tyson.
Wilder isn't just restricted to boxing in a street fight, but that's the only thing he'd need to use in one against Lenny 10-5 McLean. I don't care what Lenny could supposedly do against drunk men in the street, against a World Champion level Heavyweight like Wilder, a supremely athletic one, he punches and grabs at air until Wilder sends him to bed.
Maybe the best way to look at this is to ask the question "what self respecting man fights in the street?" I've always said that if you want to fight do it in a ring, not the public streets. If you're fighting in pubs, clubs, bars, streets, parks etc. you're doing it all wrong. Wild street fighters can be worn down too, I've seen it happen, they can soon gas and when their plan A or B isn't working they're often helpless.
