I just re-watched this fight and I still can't believe how impressive Tyson was in his prime. Watch how Mike immediately swarms Frazier, throwing double/tripple jabs and right hooks, while looking for the right uppercut (which he said he would knock him out with). Incredible performance. Monster. And in my opinion Marvis is an underestimated fighter. Everything you say is true, but look, also. He throws three hooks from an entirely stationary position when the bell goes (first action). Looks like he missed with two. His position literally could not be more vulnerable. A puncher who could measure Mike would have taken his head of there. Of course, that is not to say that Mike would have thrown those punches v a Joe Louis or a Lennox Lewis.
i was about to comment that mike wouldnt have thrown from positions like that against a better fighter but you did that for me in your closing statement, mike knew marvis was in over his head and fought in a style that worked for that fight.
It should be noted that Tyson threw caution to the wind when fighting someone he knows he could beat with his eyes closed. I have never seen Mike throw a 7 punch combination at the same speed in which he threw it like he did in the Ribalta fight in Round 8. Impressive showing.
Of course he could probably watch any ATG against anyone they easily beat in Prime that showed off all of their skills. and of course Tyson would not fight any ATG the same as he did Frazier.
