This was Mike’s last fight with Rooney, Jacobs and Cayton, and the end of Mike Tyson’s prime. “We could have gone 100-0.” - Kevin Rooney.
This version of Tyson would beat any HW from any era IMO. It is sad that he didn't want it enough to be the best HW ever.
Spinks looked beaten before the fight even started. When you are a bit worried, bit scared or a bit nervous you can hide it. When your that scared you cant.
I can still recall when I watched this execution in the middle of the night. Tyson was my (and almost everyone else's) hero in my country at the time. He simply couldn't lose, and if you came back to school (or work) without having seen it, you were the odd one out. Even my granny, who wasn't into boxing or any sport, knew who Tyson was. Times change.
I remember the build-up to this fight. It was the most heavily-hyped fight in my time as a boxing fan. Two undefeated heavyweight champions of the world going at it. Then all over in 91 seconds. Dang! Double dang if you bought a ringside seat.
