How do you envision this match-up ?
Would Mike's inexperience prove to be fatal against a declining, hot and cold, but still powerful and far more experienced Weaver ?

I'm sure Tyson's managers wouldn't have taken that kind of risk, but I'm curious about your opinions.

i have great respect for Weaver but Tyson's speed, power and combinations make this a very early night.

    Tyson inside 2 rounds

I'd have to fancy Tyson. Weaver wasn't really the sort of fighter that gave Tyson problems. Moreover Weaver wasn't the fastest starter whereas Tyson was cooking from the get-go.

Tyson early. I'm talking him coming out and hurting Weaver fast. Maybe 2 rounds at the most.

That would've been a good fight, if it were not for Weaver already being past it by '86.

    Thanks for your comments.
Interestingly, Tyson stated after he KOed Thomas that Weaver was " the greatest knockout puncher around " by the time he fought Thomas. So maybe Tyson would have been wary of his power.

Not sure about 1985 but by early 1986 I’d have to make Tyson the favorite. I love Mike Weaver but being a slow starter against even a 19 year old Tyson wasn’t a good thing. And Mike Weaver was getting on in years by then which makes it worse
