Usyk would use different tactics against 5'10 Tyson. He can adapt to different situations quickly, I'd expect him to tie Tyson up when up close.
Tyson under Rooney stops Usyk convincingly, without Rooney the undisciplined one dimensional Tyson would struggle .
As others have said usyk doesn't punch with enough authority to keep Tyson off him, Prime Tyson is faster than him and would get him out of there early
Here we go. Tyson beats everyone when he's not losing to Buster Douglas or Danny Williams. Here are the advantages Usyk has: skills, intelligence, height, reach, engine, chin Tyson: power, speed Without his roids, Tyson loses a lot of power, so under current testing conditions he's going to struggle. Usyk beats him comfortably. Once Tyson gasses after a few rounds he'll just get beat up.
Nqh it's not me or Usyk fans that need the reality check. He was pretty much written off by this forum before the first fight. Oh he is small, oh he doesn't have power, oh he can't stand to AJ punches, oh AJ is going to be too big, too strong for him, oh he look bad fir Chisora and Witherspoon, and all that hot garbage. Yet he prove all wrong and beat the man in the division. Hyped you say? Do you realize this is Unified, Undisputed CW champion, absolutely CW GOAT, that won all of his championship fights in his opponent backyard? Do you understand that everything was against him, and he beat AJ both in UK and his second home Saudi, with crocked judges, paid referee and ring tailor made for AJ ? The words Usyk and overhyped doesn't have weight in the same sentence. Also for all the fanboys on here. When you compare a dream fights that can't happen, you have to but the best version of both fighters. Not put the worst version of 1 fighter, and absolutely prime version of the other one, and making a case that way. This just the bias on people on here, that are still but**** Usyk is ruling Boxing World !!!
I still think Tyson wins but people are forgetting Usyk can recombine his skillset to look quite different. If you watch him against Glowacki, mostly the same elements but used in a different way. I think this would have been a highly entertaining, fast paced fight early on because the style matchup will force both men into constant movement and risky shots.
What advantages did usyk have over Chisora and AJ? because they managed to touch him up. Prime Tyson wouldnt gas after a few rounds and for your information usyk doesn't have a better chin than Tyson. Tyson took a lot of punishment from Douglas for pretty much 10 rounds before going down, he ate ruddocks uppercuts without going down. You telling me usyk could take those punches better than Tyson? And since when was Tyson on steroids? That's news to me
He also beat pretty much all those cruiser stars on their home turf. I am happy to see him doing what he does. He is like in my top 3 favourite fighters of all time. Still, one can argue which one out of him and Chisora was more "not absolutely prime" in their fight, because it also wasn't Chisora from the Vitali fight, was it? Styles do make fights to a large degree and emotions clearly cloud your judgement IMO. Usyk is a gem, but not the only gem in history, nor the only gem at HW now (Fury being the other).
Mike wouldn’t have beaten everyone comfortably. However, this would have been a horrible stylistic match up for Usyk. Mike wouldn’t have gassed after a few rounds. This is a myth. He only ever gassed early in Tokyo, as he had no stamina because he hardly trained. The Ruddock fights prove that he could go the distance at a fast pace, whilst being put under pressure. Usyk wouldn’t have beaten Mike comfortably. This opinion can only be derived from emotion. If you look at things logically, out of all of the great HW’s of the past, it’d be one of the worst stylistic match ups for Usyk. Mike would have been on him like a rash, giving him no time or space. Usyk hasn’t got a huge jab to keep him on the end of, the strength to rough him up, nor the firepower to have deterred him from relentlessly pursuing him. He just had nothing to keep Mike off of him. Usyk may be the better overall fighter, but Mike would definitely have had to have been favoured based upon styles.
Usyk wins this. Tyson gasses out after failing to get Usyk out of there in 4 or 5. Usyk is too fast and slick for him. Plus Usyk has a great chin, I don't think Tyson knocks him out, his movement is too good for Tyson.
I'm an Usyk fanboy these days, but this is one of the few fights that I wouldn't be confident in him taking. Almost all the fighters that gave Usyk trouble were shorter heavy handed aggressive types (Beterbiev, Nistor, Mezhidov, Chisora) and prime Tyson is miles above any of them in savagery and offensive prowess. Usyk would need to be on his bike the whole fight, darting from side to side, and not switching off for a moment because Tyson would be on him with the ferocity, and unlike many of the plodders Usyk fought that could somewhat mimic his style Tyson also had crazy fast feet and herky jerky head movement to slip and catch Usyk. I think Usyk could win but it'd be a nailbiting fight, and if I'm being honest I'd lean more towards Mike here.
More nonsense. How many times did Mike gas out within 4-5 rounds? Mike didn’t have to knock him out in order to have won. Usyk isn’t too fast and slick, and Mike would have made this a fight on the inside. It wouldn’t have been a point scoring chess match. Mike would have fought him. Usyk would have had no time and space and his offense would have been limited. He had absolutely nothing to have deterred Mike from walking him down and backing him up with power punches.
