AFAIK, McCall had never legitimately been KO'ed, but how would he do against Tyson?

i think this would be a good fight. mccall was a solid fighter who was tough and dangerous, but not elite. he had one hell of a chin and had above average punching power. tyson would play straight into mccalls strengths with him coming right at him being a pressure fighter. but would have a little too much for mccall over the first six with it probably being 5-1 in rounds. it would still be competitive though. after this though, mccall would start to come on strong while tyson would be wilting a little. if tyson couldn't get you out early he would look to be running out of ideas and start looking a bit flat. so after the first half, mccall would definitely be doing his best work. but, tyson would still have enough about him to pull out a decision by UD. something like 116-112. he wouldn't knock mccall out that's for sure.

mccall would make it real tough in the second half with it being quite exciting, but overall, tyson takes it.

He was a sparring partner with Tyson

I think Mike takes it in a middle to late round stoppage ... would be an excellent fight

This thread is very similar to seeing The Standells on The Bing Crosby Show. Except The Standells aren't there. And it's not The Bing Crosby Show.

always thought mccall would beat him, late rounds ko, both were loose cannons in the ring though.

They'd fall into the sparring mentality.

Fighters who've given eachother hundreds if not thousands of rounds of work don't typically have electric pro fights. They knew eachother too well.

Tyson had the talent and the speed, and a big edge in actual skill(His mechanics were ace, McCall's were badly flawed), and thus, likely dominates to a decision, winning most of the rounds, if not all of them.

Oliver makes it interesting with his toughness and fitness, and when Mike starts to fade late, like he always did, McCall would start to connect, and we'd have a fight.

    Tyson UD.

McCall did give Mike some problems in sparring, but sparring and an actual fight are much different. Tyson worked on his game with McCall, kept sharp etc If it were an actual fight Tyson would have been much more serious and would go 110% that being said I believe McCall earned tysons respect, but they're not in the same league at all. McCall best asset was his chin, Tyson use to KO sparring partners all the time, McCall was much more durable so he could give Mike more work then the others. In an actual fight Tyson wins by TKO in the middle rounds. McCall would be stopped for taking too much punishment but he would end the fight on his feet.

McCall may cry and quit or he may get KO'd or Iron Mike may have gotten discouraged from hitting McCall and fizzled like he did vs Douglas...an iron chin can discourage a man, just that mental strength was not McCall's best asset and even Mini Mike had him beat there.

In the 80's Tyson always beats him up. In the mid 90's its a little more interesting because of Tyson's lack of fitness, but Mcall never really did anything well enough to beat Tyson. Look at how gassed Bruno was against Mcall and Mcall couldnt finish him. I would doubt Tyson would ever lose to Mcall.
