'87 version of each. I got Tyson by brutal KO. I think it would go something like this. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xt2waqpyEHw[/ame]
Either I'm old, or have a great memory, because I vividly remember watching this fight live with my dad...
Thomas by TKO in 30 seconds. Also, on the undercard, Buster Douglas comes on strong in the latter rounds and beats Tony Tucker.
Agreed on the Douglas one, but Thomas is just too slow, he would get hit with about 15 unanswered punches before going down. Douglas/Tyson would be a good fight too though. Another spectacular KO for Tyson in the end.
Tyson best performances were against Larry Holmes and Michael Spinks. No one bar Tyson, possibly Sonny Liston out of the heavyweaights of the last 110 years out would knock-out Holmes so early and so brutally. An 38 year old Holmes was far harder to knockout as his experience, style, huge heart and granite chin made almost impossible to take him out. Holmes went on to lose by about 3 rounds to E. Holyfield, beat Ray Mercer...this if you think about it is top notch stuff. Spinks never lost to anyone else, and is probably just outside the top 40 all time great heavyweights. Spinks beats Holmes twice, Cooney once...not bad stuff
