It would not be surprising in the least bit if Holyfield knocked out all of the guys Louis did if he replicated the same punches on them, Holyfield was a lot stronger than Louis, and yeah bench pressing doesn't make a puncher, but there is definitely a degree to which being as strong as Holyfield was contributes to punching power Even the Holyfield from the Valuev fight finishes Marciano with relative ease
The Holyfield from the Valuev fight was ancient and his only hope would be to outbox and butt his way to a win over Marciano but can you see Evander lasting the full 12 against a relentless Rocky I can’t also bear in mind Valuev is like the worst heavyweight champ in history
The issue is Bowe wasn't the type of fighter to fight a discipled fight behind the jab. As soon as he gets hit he will go to war because that was Bowe's mentality he was an offensive fighter. I think Holyfield had underrated power but i don't think he's up there with the real big hitters. Bowe showed an above average chin vs Holyfield and he can certainly take a shot, but as i alluded to earlier Bowe didn't really fight any notable Heavyweight puncher apart from Hide but Hide was a blown up Cruiserweight. For me Bowe didn't answer enough questions vs other elite Heavyweights especially big punchers. And with his defensive flaws and wanting to fight on the inside instead of using his height and reach, i feel like Bowe could be vulnerable to an elite puncher/fighter like Tyson.
Bowe had too leaky a defense and I think Tyson would land hard and often enough to take him out. In fairness to Bowe, his defense was worse at long range than at shorter range. Tyson was most dangerous at mid range or when coming inside. Bowe was much more well schooled at fighting inside than Tyson. If Tyson stayed out of prison and ended up fighting Bowe around 93’ or so, I can see Bowe winning. But I think late 80s Tyson wins over peak Bowe.
This is an undespicable way to not give Bowe anywhere enough credit than what he deserves. You can beat as many below average big punchers like Ruddock, but it wont be **** compared to beating actual top tier competition. Prime Mike really seems dangerous against Bowe on paper but who tf did he beat apart from these bums with nothing but power? And if complete tomato cans like James Tillis and Mitch Green went the distance with prime Mike do you really think Riddick Bowe can't? The point is he never showed he was any close to be able to defeat a real damn prime all time great. He would be a gigantic underdog against Bowe just as much as against Holyfield prime for prime. If Bowe really goes to war with Mike because he "can't be patient when getting hit", then he would definitely do it wisely.
I was gonna try to say something educated, but your statements on Tyson's opposition reek of a lack of knowledge when it comes to boxing.
"Undespicable way" what are you talking about ? Gigantic underdog ? Below average punchers ? again you're missing the point It's the fact Bowe never fought any notable punchers. I'm done with this conversation we're going nowhere you're not grasping any of the points i'm making and you are too fixated on the Holyfield fight
Maybe you didn't understand me. I am also saying Holyfield himself is a notable punchers. With or without steroids
