Lyle goes out on his shield.

Tyson was a great deal quicker than Foreman in terms of handspped, and in his prime, was brilliant at slipping shots on the way in, in order to land his counter hooks, body shots (a seemingly underrated weapon of Tyson's) and right uppercuts in close.

Lyle climbs off the deck in the third, whereupon Tyson swarms all over Lyle and brutally lays him out.

    Tyson KO3.

Ron might have some good moments, but Mike wins on a 4th round kayo.

    I'd favour Tyson.
Lyle was good enough to pull a Douglas and he would be capable of picking himself off the floor more than the once, but I suspect he'd be drawn to much into slugging with Tyson and that wouldn't be advantageous.

What's the difference between leaving on a shield and leaving on a stretcher?

A shield must be carried, a stretcher is either pushed or pulled. Not really much of a difference.

What up Azzer! I got Tyson in 5 here.

Lyle is a tough SOB and I see him chomping at the bit to engage with Tyson. He'll resort to holding (ala Frank Bruno, Pinklon Thomas, Jesse Ferguson) once he experiences Tyson's work rate and accuracy. This will buy him some time since it's all he can do to keep himself from getting whacked repeatedly. I see Tyson working the body before he chops Lyle down to size. I keep picturing the Jesse Ferguson fight here.

This would be one of Tyson's and Lyle's most exciting bouts.

I pick mike based on he was better overall... But stylistically it is far from being an easy fight for him. He cant intimidate lyle, he cant overpower lyle. Ron had lion heart.it would be epic trading blows. Both men would get hurt, finally lyle gets exahusted and tyson finishes the fight with a combination . tko referee stoppage

I say Tyson in 1 or 2 rounds. His skill, speed, explosiveness and punching precision was superior to Lyle. I think Lyle would be overwhelmed.

In 1 or 2 rounds? James shi.t smith lasted 12 and lyle is getting stopped in 1 round? Donovan sh it ruddock lasted tons of rounds.
Trash comments like that destroy the forum

The victory of quarry over a green lyle had nothing to do with the size or power of quarry

Still he did a debatable thread. Because lyle would have chance. However you are the only puppet who said that holyfield did hit harder than lyle and the chin of foreman was not much better than lennox's

Tyson dominated tall, powerful, hard hitting guys that were very strong but not that fast .. Lyle would not be afraid of Mike and might have taken a post prison Mike but he would have lost to the 86 - 88 Mike by a TKO of a lopsided decision .. Lyle was not fast.

Ron Lyle was a good fighter. He started late in life. Fought out of prison. Ended up making a name for himself and fought in some meaningful bouts. But he's no match for Mike Tyson. He was too accessible. And while he was certainly tough I don't think he'd survive the type of onslaught that Tyson would launch on him.
