Not necessarily underrated. It's just that he's insanely more famous, and a better media character, than Roy.
mike. he has just been a staple of culture for so long. musta been a billion dogs named tyson, by now. who else has taken ownership of the title "the baddest man on the planet" like mike did? hes bigger than life, a movie star. defects an all.
I just hope they have the production value and showmanship to make this entertaining. I assume Mike is the pre-ordained winner, but my concern about Roy winning is he might take it as a cue to go set up a real bout.
Tyson I guess since it's been so long since I've seen him but to be honest I just don't want anybody to get hurt.
That's a real concern he just can't stay retired. I won't lie I haven't really paid much attention to this event. Are they fighting with head gear, how seriously are they taking this. It's a real possibility one of these guys gets hurt. From the short clips I've seen from Tyson he is for real. I know it's just promotion stuff but I just hope neither of them is taking this to serious.
Dogs how many kids were named Tyson after him in the late 80's early 90's? It is like rocky used to be... Tyson Fury's dad named him after the guy. Although I heard him say he wanted to name his other son Holyfield but his wife said no, that god for the kids sake.
thats what i mean, that guy lived with you for decades. all off of who he genuinely was, and had been for a brief time in our collective history..
Yeah he started of as a great champion and respectful guy but with the passing of his mentor he just couldn't handle the fortune and especially the fame. It really brought him to a low place for a long time but in the end he turned it around and everyone loves him again. Complete full circle and yes he was probably the most famous man alive for awhile there and is definitely a American icon.
Last I heard no headgear, 12 ounce gloves, 8x2 minute rounds. I'd like to say I haven't followed it but I've been hate-following it from the start. I get the sense from RJJ he's trying to convince people he has something left. This is nostalgia for Mike I think. Makes me a little worried for him because you have to be fully focused and committed in any fight.
