Boxer puncher my ass. Remind me of how many bums Liston lost to in his prime.

Read The Devil and Sonny Liston.

Fighting with a broken jaw is much more impressive than going into long defensive shells when hit.

    No he wasn't. Another lie.
That fight was most likely a fix AND Liston had a legitimate shoulder injury.
Holmes did avenge a loss imo. That's not the only reason I rank Patterson above Tyson.

    Marty Marshall.

If that's your source I would try harder. A book that makes all kinds of weird, unverified claims including that Archie Moore tanked his fight with Marciano and also dwells on the size of Liston's d***. Very reliable.

Beating Razor Ruddock is much more impressive than losing to Marty Marshall

The Washington Post reported: "McBride is fortunate that Tyson decided to quit. Despite out-classing Tyson in five of the six rounds, two judges, Tammye Jenkins and Stephen Rados, still had Tyson leading, 57-55, when the fight was stopped."

At least settle on one excuse. Was it a fix or did he have an injury? Make up your mind. Regardless, either one is not to Liston's credit. Go watch Danny Williams KO'ing Mark Potter while his shoulder was hanging out of its socket.

    Holmes never avenged a loss.

    So...

You just made that up, didn't you?

Yeah you have a point there.
Depends, did he beat Razor Ruddock while having to fight through a broken jaw?
The Washington Post reported: "McBride is fortunate that Tyson decided to quit. Despite out-classing Tyson in five of the six rounds, two judges, Tammye Jenkins and Stephen Rados, still had Tyson leading, 57-55, when the fight was stopped."

So now, you're admitting Tyson was winning the fight. Something you tried deliberately lying about.
    Are you dyslexic?

    Your such an idiot.

Just like hand speed was everything for Patterson, a faster puncher than Tyson, against Liston. He made Liston look like a complete idiot. Patterson beat Liston to the punch every time. Liston didn't even land one punch on Patterson. Patterson made him look like a child. Oh wait... :yep

Let's just say Tyson does indeed beat Ali (lol). Liston beats Douglas, and you see what Douglas did to Tyson.

You made that claim, not me. Feel free to list all these additional losses Buster Douglas had that aren't on his Boxrec record. Or you can just admit you made it up.

Exactly how did Tyson have a stylistic advantage over Liston?

    Fair points.
The only thing I could say is that Ruddock and Smith couldn`t really box at all. They couldn`t set up their power as well as Sonny Liston probably could. Sonny was a pretty decent boxer as well as being powerful. On the other hand a guy like Pinky Thomas was a good boxer with a nice jab but nothing really behind it. He couldn`t get Tyson`s respect.
