You got banned because you lost a bet. You don't seem to pick him very often. No experts have ever rated Tyson above Liston. Did Tyson have a troubled childhood? Did Tyson like it when people stood up to him? Could Tyson take Liston's punches? Remember how, jabs troubled Tyson? Sonny has the best one in history. You'd have to be an idiot to say it wouldn't.
I like Liston here. He had a better skill set ( outside or inside ) and huge reach advantage. Tyson has a speed edge, but he's got to get past Liston's telephone pole like jab before he can use it. If the fight makes it to the mid rounds, Liston's superior stamina would be a factor. Tyson was mostly a front runner and after round 6 or so slowed down.
Well, I'm pretty sure that no one has ever been right 100% of the time. I think it might have been the last Pacquiao vs. Marquez fight to be honest. Hey, shlt happens! As for Liston vs. Tyson? We will never know, this shlt is just for fun so relax! I'm not going to pick Liston just because everyone else is picking Liston. "Everyone" picking a certain fighter just makes that fighter the favorite... the favorite doesn't always win.
See the Cleveland Williams fight. He definitely showed it. Look at their physical advantages and tale of the tape. Liston has a clear advantage in both.
Liston never beat 215+ pounds decent/good fighter. At least Tyson beat some decent/good 215+ pounders.
Liston and superior stamina...You forget the Ali 1 fight. I don't know only one example when Liston won an at least 12 round fight against a decent opponent.(Tyson has some good 12 round wins Tucker,Ruddock 2,Smith.) Plus Tucker 6'5 ,Ruddock 6'3,Smith 6'4" and Liston maybe 6'1". 6'1" or shorter fighter never beat Tyson.
Stop mentioning a past prime Liston. You didn't mention he could comfortably go 12 rounds, while Tyson couldn't. Remember Tyson's stamina against Holyfield. No fighter under 6 feet beat Liston either. But you forgot to mention that.
Saw it earlier this year but I don't remember Liston fighting that way. I remember him starting slow and getting his nose busted. Threw some hard jabs when Williams was flat-footed in front of him but did most of his work with shorter power punches. I definitely don't remember him moving behind his jab to avoid/evade Williams the way Buster Douglas and others frustrated Tyson with their jabs. Maybe I'm misremembering things.
"I struggle to think of a puncher he faced in the eighties save Douglas. I'll not give him much credit for Ruddock" Good god, how far can someone sink?
Tyson would land first the same way Williams landed first, the difference would be he wouldn't get hit near as much and keep it up until Liston was ko'd or quit.
Liston wouldn't let Tyson hit him as much. He'd counter his punched and use that jab. He'd get hit a lot with that jab. Tyson was troubled by Douglas's jab. Liston's was so much harder.
