I meant rematch. My bad.
Sorry for being so strict man. You're right to an extent. Though I feel you're being biased, I can't force you to favor a fighter.
Listens reach would be more than enough to nullify it. But, I'll look for more footage where he usedd it that way. Also, can you post your description again?
Saw it earlier this year but I don't remember Liston fighting that way. I remember him starting slow and getting his nose busted. Threw some hard jabs when Williams was flat-footed in front of him but did most of his work with shorter power punches. I definitely don't remember him moving behind his jab to avoid/evade Williams the way Buster Douglas and others frustrated Tyson with their jabs. Maybe I'm misremembering things.
Liston's jab was slower, and he threw it one at a time.
No you're not.
Liston's jab was more effective than an average fighters one two. He rarely followed up on it.

1:39. Liston lands the jab, then takes a step back.
2:18. Liston lands a jab and holds his position.
2:23 Liston throws a jab and holds his position
easy win for mike
Shouldn't this fool be banned? He resurrected one 7 and now this six year old thread in one day. This is not a beneficial member of this forum.
But what about his remarkable insights Rules.
I know, what was I thinking? Indispensable.
Tyson had better all around ability than Liston.
But sometimes it's not just ability but psychological make up. What would even a prime Tyson do against a man with the history of Liston in the opposite corner?
Liston wasn't knocking down and snatching old ladies pocket books as Tyson did, Liston was a true bad ass, fighting in prison, putting police officers in garbage cans, a leg breaker for the mob.
If we look at Tysons responses when he faced serious adversity it not very flattering for him. Even in his prime.
He would have someone in the opposite corner facing him that would create doubt in himself.
Sometimes the bully when facing a bigger badder bully melts away like butter in a hot frying pan.
That's the difference I see and the reason I'd pick Liston and Foreman to beat Tyson prime vs prime. Not because they were better skilled but because they were better bullies
Holyfield showed who Tyson really was when he ( Tyson) bit off both his ears. If this was one incident, maybe it could be pushed away, but their are many other incidents when Tyson faced serious opposition and he acted out. It's the rule of who he was inside.
A fighter like Liston would see that in Tyson. He would know the nonsensical behavior and words are only him trying to hide his fear
Unlike Ali who acted crazy, which if anything would throw off a bully it's a crazy man . Tyson wouldn't have the ability to go that route. He would try to intimidate a man who would see through him.
A man who had a real history of bad ass.
That would cause Tyson to be very hesitant in the boxing ring against Liston and give , Liston the advantages he needs to hurt, and stop Tyson.
Boxing sometimes isn't won by the better skilled, and athletically better fighter. Perfect example is Montreal Leonard vs Duran.
This fight would come down to which bully would make the other blink. Liston would make Tyson blink. Stop him in 10rds.
ill let somebody else respond to this idiotic post in detail you already gave mike the win by saying his skills was advanced he needs nothing more just cause your a fan of a person doesn't mean they win tell the truth and stop trolling
all you idiots say how mike loses to George and son yet never lost to a slow or easy to read person which both those people were
Didn't think Tyson fought Liston or Foreman. So he never faced anyone with their particular strength.
And for a novice boxing fan like yourself who again show how very little you understood the sport with that nonsense post of yours.
Theirs been literally thousands of fights won in boxing by the lesser talented fighter.
One thing a novice like yourself can't seem to grasp is boxing isn't just about who's bigger, who hits harder, who's faster, even sometimes who has the better skills, it's also about who has the bigger or most willpower. Fighters like Lomatta, Marciano, Limon, Tiger, Qawi, has proven that time and time again amongst many others.
And the opposite who's demonstrated the weakest will.
Tyson has demonstrated this many times in his career, even in some of his wins.
He's never gotten of the floor to win, he's never had to fight through major physical damage as both Foreman and Liston has done.
Now to respond to you calling posters "Idiots".
The only idiot on this site is you. Your refusal to listen to other diffrent opinions, your pathetic grammar, suggest you may have a 5th grade education level if that. Your no-it-all attitude leaves me to believe like most like you, you really don't have a clue about the subject so you try to hide that lack of knowledge with blustery, and buffoonery.
Lastly, like all internet badass's that hides behind a key pad , knowing their safe to insult others over the internet.
You are a coward..... So live with it, deal with it, become a better person.
