I completely agree..I'm just barely under 6', so 230 might be even more comfortable for me.

You’ve obviously never watched Liston fight if you don’t think he had an uppercut. His uppercut was one of his most devastating weapons.

I've seen this bandied around before but it's simply not true. I'd grant that it was a punch Liston seldom used but rest assured he had it in his locker and it was great punch when he did decide it was called for.

Have a look at both Patterson fights Devon - won't take very long at all. Against a guy who obviously fought very much like Tyson (same peek-a-boo style, same trainer etc) Liston decided to bring the uppercut into play as a strategy as it is obviously an important punch (as you are alluding) against the peek-a-boo style where they are low a lot of the time.

Have a look at Liston rake Patterson with huge damaging uppercuts and he even throws a few with the left hand. The finishing punch in the second fight is almost a hybrid left uppercut.

Bro the absolute worst is when you're in the process of writing an essay and are already very far along, go run some errands, only to find the page has timed out and all your effort is lost to history

Agreed 100%. Tyson had an excellent chin. It a ton of breaking him down to finally be able to knock him down. Not too many boxers would have still been standing by round 8 with the kind of punishment he was taking from Lewis.

He walked into that fight knowing the only way he was going to win was by walking through bomb after bomb in an attempt to pull off a Rahman or McCall. There's no way he didn't know he was in for a brutal beating, win or lose. His skills were too shot to be able to get inside against Lewis easily and without damage. He had to have known it. But if you're Tyson, and saw the Rahman and McCall fights, you have to think "I can hit harder than those guys, if I can just get in there I can knock this big MF out..."

I have to think a young Tyson would have just been too much for Liston to catch. And I'm sorry, but if Ali can knock you out quickly, or beat you so bad you can't get up for the next round, it ain't going to go well when an actual heavy hitter catches you.

Tyson wins a shootout in 5 rounds in a fight where Mike's hand speed and power prove too much for Sonny.

At the stare down Tyson wets his pants, this causes unsure footing when he does his lunges toward Liston. Once Tyson realizes he can't back Liston up with Sonny's ram rod jab in his chest he begins to panic as he did in the Holyfield fight and looks for a way out. The thought of biting Liston to end the fight causes his bowels to release resulting in a 5 minute delay to clean the ring. The end comes when Sonny drops him with a barrage along the ropes and since Mike can't find his mouth piece he takes a 10 count.

    nothing to do with ali
mike fought people like Tillis a ali knockoff man known to punch fast and was long range firing shots off and had trouble landing why would a easy to read slow puncher who doesn't fight by using his jab lateral be a tough match for mike doesn't add up at all

its odd to even say son would win with that type of style and being slow

mike also fought Thomas another fast puncher who had trouble landing

mike would win real easy here
people who saying sonny ether trolling or just dont like mike on resume only boxing doesn't work off resume only skill condition and weight matters

son has no way to win unless his style changes and his speed and he has better defense

he is destroyed fast in his state he fought in

    Cut with the fanfiction.

I mean it's ok to feel sympathy for Liston given his genuinely tragic life, but overrating him to this point is not fair.
