Well atleast Morrison would have an opponent who'd come check on him after the fight was over, unlike when he fought another guy who just kept smashing away at his head and the ref did nothing until people screamed at him to stop the fight.
I would say both fighters in their separate ways have a long night and early morning of women, booze and illicit drugs. On fight night surprisingly they both show up groggy, tired and unfocused. The fight ends up looking like two journeyman boxing it out at McMurphy's Pub where they guarantee a fight every night. Somewhere around the 5th I see a double Knock Out.
Tyson vs Morrison was on the table. But Morrison tested positive and that was that. He was signed by King if I remember correctly and was about to face a Stormy Weathers as an opponent. With the caveat Tyson was next. KO magazine I believe had a write up called would Mike risk it all vs Tommy. For the record I see a fun fight That lasts for 2 rounds. Mike was just much better
You have to remember, post prison Tyson was a tank with limited ammunition and fuel. The best version of Morrison shockingly has better stamina, but he probably doesn't last long to make it matter. Whoever fights more strategically wins, but Tyson should be favored. Those first 3-4 rounds, Morrison will feel like he's running through a mine field. A single mistake and Tyson might detonate on his chin. Morrison did show some unusual guts and toughness in the Ruddock fight, but Tyson had better accuracy and ring IQ than Ruddock. I could see Morrison buzzing Tyson or even dropping him once for a flash knockdown given his ridiculously powerful hook (never trade hooks with a hook specialist), then Tyson lays a beat down.
Tyson would have stopped Tommy in 4 or 5 action packed rounds, Would have been a war while it lasted as Morrison would have brought it to Tyson, but the problem for Morrison is that everything he does, Tyson does better. Tyson vs Tua on the other hand…
Physically yes, mentally no. But Morrison is unlikely to pull him into those deep waters, since he doesnt have the technical tools to negate and frustrate Tyson. Tyson by KO in under 3. Its the worst possible style matchup for Morrison
Tyson would stop Morrison in the first 3 rounds IMO. Even the post prime Tyson. That's probably "the" nightmare matchup for Morrison
If Morrison had had a better chin it could have been a slugfest like Tua v Ike but his chin was not good. Tyson Ko's him within 5 rounds.
