fury isn't levelheaded enough o be great.

he is good enough to outwrestle a decent journeyman.

Talent wise and just boxing IQ and skill fury would never beat Mike tyson 86-88 kos fury in 2 and post prison tyson destroys fury in 1 to 3 the press conferences would have been great but Mike is on another level than fury and level tyson is not capable of ever reaching

I actually believe 'prime' iron mike to be hugely overrated but the the dopey responses to fury's latest win are something else.

mike Tyson by opening round blitz.

This must be a joke thread. Fury is a bum. Tyson is an ATG. Total mismatch. Tyson Fury could survive only as long as he could run..and I mean run. Otherwise Mike would KO him in devastating fashion and quick about it.

    This is ridiculous.
This era of HWs is totally different and I dont think many from the past would have been able to compete nowadays. The European HW scene, is very tough, arguably the toughest in the world.
Mike was a good fighter and had some success at European level, but lost when stepped up in European level.
I would favour Fury to be on his A game and box Mike to, if not a clear decision, but a mid late stoppage.

    I would favour Tyson... Fury

Obviously its all about opinion but my opinion is that Tyson Fury would of lost to atleast half the opponants a young Iron Mike was knocking out in a round or 2 in his early career.

Although his height may prove to be awkward to the American I think Fury has a bog standard chin to go with a very ropey defence and not enough power to halt Iron Mikes advances. 2 or 3 rounds would be all thats needed to end this fight.

Although i give him some credit for actually defensivly using his height and reach to keep Chisora away from him last week like a pro i think heavyweight boxing is not what it was and the journey men of the 80,s early 90,s would all be top 10 material now.

Heres some interesting points to consider.

The general consensus is, Tyson was completely shot vs Mcbride, even then he was winning by two rounds on the scorecards.

McBride didn't exactly win as such, Tyson just couldn't be bothered to get up anymore.

McBride was one of Tysons largest opponents, 6"6 with an 80 inch reach, Fury is 6"9 with an 85" reach.

So there's not much of a size difference between Fury and Mcbride, and people forget Mcbride was on a good run and had knocked out all of his past 7-8 opponents before the Tyson figh.

People commenting on Tysons lack of size, i feel Mike had more than enough to blast fury out of there.

Take this poll again five years, just now pointless, although the mythical 1988 Tyson KO's Fury on evidence thus far.

Mike beat much bigger and taller fighters, like Tony Tucker and Bonecrusher Smith. He was just too good in his prime.
