Interesting match up ... Tyson was a three round fighter at this point so Wlad likely wins ... prime Tyson wins by KO.

    1. I'If you want to pick Wlad fine, if Tyson's knee doesn't pop out, Wlad's in for his best opponent he's ever faced even if Tyson is past it

    2. Wlad was tense/worried, this tires you faster, Wlad can fight at the pace all night if he isn't paniking/tense, which he clearly was, he looked terrible

2a Peter didnt beat him, Vitali thought Peter would beat Wlad so he was kicked out of camp

    3. Indeed I'm expecting his knee doesn't explode against Wlad, if it does granted he loses unless he finnishes it early as he did against Ettiene the prior year

    4. None of those guys were good prospects though, it was a relatively easy road, Wlad looked very good mind you. Byrd was a decent spoiler but overrated, Toney would have beat him, Barrett turned into an alright gatekeeper. I don't think you'll hear anyone say Foreman/Bowe had a hard journey to the top, they didn't,but Tubbs tops any of those.

My bottom line, Wlad wasn't the finnished product and Tyson is a stylistic nightmare unless he's completely shot and I don't think he was as shot as is made out from 2002-2003 at least

Until Wlad shows me he can handle a rough phyiscal fire fight he has zero chance in my book. Wlad has never faced anything close to what a prime Tyson brings. Wlad has just folded up too quickly against a lot lessor comp, and has never shown much coordination on the inside and under supreme pressure. Weve never seen the guy show the ability to fight!

  5. you are comparing the bunchs of garbage who fought tyson in 2000 with wladimir hahahah. the oldest foreman did beat an undefeated savaresse hahahaa. wladimir by decision. YOU FORGET THAT TYSON WAS DESTROYED AND HUMILIATED BY A PAST PRIME HOLYFIELD IN 1996-97. TYSON DID LOOK GOOD IN 2000 BECAUSE HE FACED PURE ****. SIMPLE.:hi:

    1. Golota & Savarese were amongst the best in the division at that time & are better than anyone Wlad has beaten, except for the featherfisted Byrd.
Chagaev was once on that level, but not when Wlad fought him, because he was by then a lethargic, tainted fighter, suffering from Hepatitis.

    2. Past-Prime Holy of '96 & '97 beats any version of Wlad, i'd bet big on it. :deal
Even the older, slower, less stamina '99 Holy of the Lewis rematch probably beats Peak Wlad.

Say what? I don't remember ever hearing anything about that. Do you have a source I can look at, I'm pretty curious about it.

  8. i agree 100% and i give chance to prime tyson because of the suspect chin of wlad, but still i am not sure on if tyson might hit wlad with a clean shot in the chin.. Tyson was 5´11 and short, wlad is 6´7.
Vitali would beat any version of tyson.
6´8 , iron chin, with skill, probably more physical strength, good hand speed, good stamina, longer reach ? Noway...prme tyson could not ko smith and he was 34... Hahah smith was not mobile.... And he was not a top puncher.... Prime tyson is overrated like the hell.

AND IN THE YEAR 2000 WLAD DID BEAT CHRIS BYRD, THE MAN WHO LEWIS AVOIDED

    1. He didn't look that hot before the knee gave out either..all 2 minutes of action. As I said, very lethargic.

    2. Only in your opinion he clearly was. Looked like the usual Wlad performance outside of him getting sloppy and overzealous when he thought Brewster was ready to go. If anything he was overconfident. Peter fight is a different story, he was very jittery but took some good shots and got off the canvas to win.

-Thanks for clearing that up, irrelevant though as Vitali was wrong.

    3. His knee went the first time he tried to counter over the jab...there is a very strong chance of that happening against Wlad. It wasn't a fluke fall or anything, just a routine punch he loved to throw. This isn't Mike's night, man.

    4. You keep going on about Toney..who didn't splash into the regular Heavyweight scene until 2003. How the hell is Wlad going to fight him on the way up in the late 90s, drain himself down to crusier? McCline and Wlad had both established themselves as the top up and comers in line for Lewis at the time they met in 2002. This would be on par with Grant and Ibeabuchi facing each other in 99, the clear front runners from their class meeting.

Toney and Byrd are about on par with each other, some good wins, some bad loses. Chris was more proven at the weight at least and has the better overall resume. I would put both above Tubbs, tough opponent but never a genuine contender.

Eh, Tyson didn't look that hot against Lewis either. Also overweight, sloppy, and seemingly not that driven. Unlike Brewster against Wlad, I really don't think Tyson showed up to walk through career threatening punishment, get off the canvas, and break down his man at all cost. Mike took a beating but it was a "going through the motions" beating.

  12. not, the funny thing is that the stupid tyson fanboys like you are trying to say that prime tyson would beat anyone, and the facts are that several fighters would beat prime tyson, anf tons of legend woulD have great chance to beat him TOO,tyson in 2000 was nothing, simple. A decent fighter who did beat buckets of garbage. Holyfield did show that any great fighter would destroy tyson post prison. And wladimir would beat holyfield 96-99 . Prime evander 91 would beat wlad by a very close decision.
