Mike Tyson's career that Cus D'Amato lived to a very old age (110 years)

So basically if Tyson was prime his whole career

    -Never loses to Douglas
-Probably doesn't go to prison (???) Cus was very strict on Tyson that way.
-Loses belts to Holyfield via close decision, Tyson takes it well.
-Rematch in 95', Tyson beats Holyfield in a decision/late TKO, if a trilogy happens Holyfield is simply a little to past his best.
-Probably still doesn't fight Bowe, Cus was strict on opponents, Bowe was no easy customer
-Loses to Lennox via UD, Lewis cruises threw the fight controlling him with clinches and jabs.

Probably has a win over Golota (doesn't fail test)

Thats all I can name that is important, imo.

Maybe he has an eventual falling out with Cus. Deceased, wise old mentors are easier to worship in memory than live ones are to listen to.

Not sure even if Cus lives to that ripe old age that Tyson remains unbeaten and never goes off the rails.
Tyson would have changed as people do, he may have got tired of being with the Cus team. They may have fallen out over something trivial and never spoke again.
And its an hard question to ask, but if Tyson broke away from Cus, would he have remained as loyal to the fighter?

Mike Tyson loved and respected Cus D’Amato. Cus D'Amato was his mentor and father when he never really had one.
I don't know how much that would change Mike in terms of results, but it is certain that Mike would be a more disciplined boxer, fighter, and man.
He would spend less time with Mary Jane, the prison issue is too broad, and he deserves a special topic. Purely logical, why would someone who can have thousands of female fans **** a woman, and even more can have them for money. He wouldn't beat Don King, he wouldn't bite Evander Holyfield (another year of boxing ban; mini prison).
And only now can we see that all the factors I listed (and failed to list) would still affect Mike's career in terms of results, and in a positive way.
I think Mike is a wild person, whom only Cus D'Amato could tame.

Lol people fetishize that man too much.

This idea that Cus died and Tyson just like lost his morality is absolutely nonsense. Read "once there were giants" and see the story about why Teddy Atlas broke with Mike and Cus and you'll see that already the attention and success was going to Tyson's head. If anything, it seemed like Cus wanted to ignore the warning signs because he was obsessed with having one more champion.

Tyson was a victim of his own success. There's really nothing that special about his decline except just how famous he was. He was a guy who came from nothing got to the top of the world and ran into the classic pitfalls. Cus wasn't going to be able to stop that. Ancient Cus probably wasn't going to be able to outmaneuver 80s Don King either.

This is an unpopular opinion but I think that Kevin Rooney and Cus could have stayed with Tyson and I still think he loses to the guys he lost to, probably still goes to jail, and his career looks largely the same. Losing his hunger and desire wasn't caused by either of their departure, it was caused by having achieved his dreams and it not filling the need he had in him. Tyson talks ad nauseum about this in books, plays and his podcast.

Wouldn't have made any difference at all, Tyson was what he was and the circumstances that brought it out would have surfaced eventually .

Agreed. Cus papered over the cracks in Tyson flawed psyche and paid people off as well as he could. At some point he implodes and it all goes to **** for Mike.

Cus is not a super hero. Maybe Tyson keeps it together a little longer but fame, partying, Don King, money, and all the trappings of these things would eventually turn Tyson's head. I think King could get Tyson to drop Cus or phase him out like he did with most of the rest of the original team Tyson.

Sort of like Duran who had Ray Arcel and Freddie Brown who kept him busy and in check for as long as they could until he made the big money against Leonard then he ran wild drinking and partying. I recall Freddie Brown saying the only reason Duran moved to 154 is he didn't want to train properly and cut the weight. Duran's problems could be fixed by focusing on training again where Tyson's flaws were different.

It is possible that things would work out more like you claim. However since you wrote "purely logical" I should inform you about one very basic fact about ****-even though I do not know if he was guilty.
Since the crime is not about sex but the act used for power & control & exorcise demons, it is as established as the earth as round that access to sex, including numerous potential partners, does not show someone many not be a ******.
Also ifthat was the case nobody with his options would ever ****, which is completely false.
