Yes he really was something. I have always wondered why these other hws who are even little bit build physical like Tyson(short and stocky) does not do the same what Tyson did I mean bob&weaving then unleashing hard combinations. I honestly can not think any other reason but Tyson had one of the best physique ever with unbelievable athletic gifts. Most of the guys can do it round or two and then getting completely gassed. Of course he was skilled as hell but he was physical specimen. What do you think?:huh Did you understand anything what I tried to say,?-D
I liked his defense because he was the aggressor and still maintained the ability to not get hit all while positioning himself to hit with full force. And I liked that he didn't need to rely on the use of the gloves as a shield like many need to do. The hard part of his defense however is that you must continually train for it or you'll get your head knocked off.
Exactly. Tyson had the right height, built, very fast hands, good chin and power in both hands. Without those physical attributes, it won't be as effective.

Because it is an extremely hard style to copy and train for...specifically for a 200+ pound HW. Its more of a smaller man's style. You need stamina, speed, agility, balance, strength, flexibility, etc. And Tyson was fortunate enough to have a very good chin because its a dangerous style to use because you are constantly in the danger zone. So you have to have balls to use it. It's a real ***** on your back as well.
To me, Tyson was one of the great technical offensive fighters but specially about his defense out on offense. Duran was wild but also effective. This short video to me and this 2nd round Ko is the proof more than anything else. Tyson faded as he lacked defensive skills when out on offense and after his comeback from the Indianapolis jail, maybe even earlier when he was put on the deck by Greg Page and then lost to Buster Douglas, even struggled with Bruno and was very lucky to get Williams out with that one left hook. OK, TRUE. I should have added that. Tyson said it himself that he was lucky to have someone like D'Amato while others aren't so lucky. This Video below shows a snippet of the "Science/Philosophy" of D'Amato [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPAIFzsyqXo[/ame]
Interesting article http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1079455/2/index.htm Also note, and I think I may have posted it up in one of my threads a while back...that Tyson got rid of the use of the "Willy" after he left Rooney. Tyson used the tape-recording method from D'Amato to help him. Rooney talked about it. A lot seems to have been abandoned when he left Catskill. And that's why people continue to debate his rapid decline. Also, listen to the question and answers from 2:30 on...specifically at 3:03 [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwnZ3VkXYCE[/ame]
only a hater would post a picture of a shot to **** mike tyson struggling to get off the canvas, in an effort to discredit him.
