Yeah, they were amazing at the time, now they look awful when compared to PS4 and Xbox but back then they were the ultimate LOL

I've seen faster counts, I've seen slower counts. The ref's count was on the slower side, yes, but you miss the point. The fighter reacts to the ref's count. Could Douglas have got up in ten seconds? Yes.

Tyson was well beaten. There is no controversy.

The real reason Tyson lost? He didn't train well. Tough s##t. He had no more of a divine right to win than anybody else. You think the referee should have counted to ten in 3 seconds flat just because Tyson was too lazy to train?

Probably the most shocking fight I ever saw. Jumped out of my chair at 3AM or whatever time it was. Douglas' mother had died prior to the fight and he was possessed. He got hit with some hellacious shots but he took them and got up from a shot that would have kept him down on any other night. This was the fight of Douglas' life. An incredible night for him. Don't try to take his well-deserved glory away by saying it was a long count. It was amazing what he did. I'll never forget the courage he put forth on that night.

huh? This brings to mind a certain quote by the Samuel L. Jackson from the movie "Pulp Fiction", with regards to one's ability to speak a certain language.

He had a long lucky count. And yes I agree with you: he bullied an emotionally distracted little guy till the end.

Not as good as Klitschko or Tyson Fury would though...

The 10 count isn't a 10 second count, the ref determines how long it takes. Tyson was also given about 14 seconds to get up when he was wobbling on all 4s looking for his mouthpiece on the canvas.

That doesn't matter. Had buster been properly counted 10, there's no more fight or chance for him to KO tyson.

Yes, I had to wait i think it was a month or more, before seeing it on TV. All I had was the newspaper and word of mouth to hear about Tyson and other fighters.
That's what I've always said, imagine Tyson or even Oscar, since his career was before the social media era and couldn't just go online and watch all of his previous fights like you can now. But imagine those guys in this era. They would outsell Floyd PPVs by 2-3 x. Tyson probably 5x.

Yet, couldn't come remotely close to beating journeyman douglas. Makes all the sense in the world. Tyson could had easily retired undefeated and beaten every top current hw, in your mind ? The prime tyson is nothing but a redundant myth
