How the hell do you do that? I want to have a neck like tyson and i saw in some clip that neck training he did. Tried it last night and nearly broke it.
I wonder how Iron mike even got such a big neck

How much affect does that have on your ability to take a punch do you think?

You'd think having a strong neck would be more of an advantage....altho Tyson has been KO'd on occasion!

I think it has a lot to do with it, i say thick legs ( read it wlad) and a thick neck will greatly imrove your punch resistance.
On the other hand Ali had a skinny legs and a normal neck but his chin was granite.
SO i think it helps but its not all.
Did work for tyson tough, although his great defense and speed also helped him.

I think it has a huge impact on punch resistance. If ya got a trunk for a neck, it stands to reason that your head aint gonna swivel round as much when you get socked thereby stopping your grey matter from banging around inside yer hed.

Some are born with a pencil neck, and others have a neck like a bull! Tysons neck training are not that crazy imo. Tyson allways had a quite huge neck

There is no reason to believe Tyson was a drugs cheat there is nothing suspicious about his career. Talk to me about Holyfield I honesty believe that guy has been juiced up since 1995.

I must admit lifting a 220 lbs body with your neck is hardcore, but some use a belt on their head with weight plates, its not that bad to use in the beginning

It starts with a less advanced version of the exercises that he did. Use your hands for balance and to not break you neck. To be honest, 4 to 5 years ago i could do all that, not as fast but i would stand on my head, no hands, leaning agains a wall and slowly twist my neck left and right & forward and backward.

    Something like this I believe.

You are rendered unconscious when the blood flow to your head is cut off (even momentarily). That's why the jerking movement of the neck precedes many concussive knockouts. Having a strong neck prevents this jerk by absorbing the impact. Hence Mike has never been concussively knocked out, just beaten up from an accumulation of punches. (Well you could argue the Douglas and Holyfield 1 KO's) None have been that brutal though, eg Frenkel KO of Macarinelli.

ive been able to do the tyson workout front and back and it definetly helps, you feel the results from the tip of your neck all the way down to your lower back!!:tong

Why 1995? Look at him as v.SOLID-RIPPED 217lbs of pure-Muscle [And he started career at 177lbs!!] in teh 2nd Bowe fight 1993, That probs where he started seriously abusing tonnes of roids. BUT IMO he started roiding to move up to heavy-division in like 1989.

I do the wrestlers bridge from time to time, cant say my neck get much bigger but it shure gets stronger. If you want more muscle building for your neck deadlift are very good and shrugs.
